Y-current

Hello All and thanks in advance for any help.
I have replaced the encoder strip. (Mimaki JV33-160) told me to. (encoder strip error)
I also replaced the encoder pcb. I almost got it to print when it threw a Y-current error.
so I replaced the Y motor and both right and left pullys.
the error persists. I cant get past it. all settings under #ADJUST throw an Error 30: cant operate, no motor power.
Please help.

It's been a long time since I used my Mimaki, but the Y-current was a regular issue.
Hopefully someone else will chime in soon, but in the meantime...

CLEAN OFF THE ROD THINGY!
The rod that the head carriage slides on gets gummy!

Clean it thoroughly, and also check to make sure that all of the gunk is removed from the part that slides along the rod.

A bit of alcohol, toothpicks, and air should work fine.
Lubricate lightly with whatever makes you comfortable .

Hope that works.
It always seemed to be when the motor got bogged down.
Usually, a bit of lubricant cleared the problem.
Check the belt, and clean out all of the ridges in it.
Sometimes they get loaded with just enough crud, and cause more drag.
Make sure to clean out the cogs at the same time.

Thank you for your reply....but I could eat off this thing..
has anyone ever heard of an encoder strip being bad out of the box?
and is there anyway of having the right and left pullys with too much tension?
