Question Help Identify this 3M Material

What do you say about ij35c on back of a phone or laptop. they are usually flat surfaces. Will it leave any residue after few months of peeling of. How would you rate the peeling experience of ij35c in compared to 40c. Also their adhesive. 40C adhesive is really bad if I'm being honest.
Depends on the laptop. If you look up Nintendo switch skins, even using highly removable vinyl it was ripping off the paint on the switch skins.

Most phones are made out of glass. And most laptops are made out of the material where IJ 35 would come off as well.

Personally I would use ij40, and I would laminate it. My phone goes in someone's pocket and no matter what technology you use to print it, the ink is going to get scratched up quite a bit with no lamination.

We use ij40 on a lot, what do you not like about the adhesive?

The adhesive starts fading off after few weeks. I am currently testing IJ180C, and believe me, the adhesive is amazing on it compared to 40C. Why can't we use the lamination? We do textured printing, which allows you to touch and feel the prints. If we use the lamination you might not feel the textures.

Never had ij40 adhesive fall off, especially if it's already on an item.

As for lamination.... Especially on phones, skins get scratched up with keys, getting dragged on tables, random items, etc - the laminate protects it. I printed a phone skin for my wife's phone 6 years ago, and it's still in perfect condition... Without laminate I imagine it'd be half scratched away / faded away from being in her purse.

Isn't there some kind of coating possible that will prevent scratching instead of laminating it?

IJ35C is probably going to harder to remove than 40C. It’s got a little more bite in my opinion, but Ive never tried it on laptops or phones. I would guess it would stick better but may be harder to remove.

We ordered some sample rolls, we will find out.
