First off, this is not a sign work, but it involves the same process. These are ice hockey goalie masks. I've played my whole life. and a buddy of mine asked if I was interested in painting his mask, so I took it on as a 'for fun' project to do on my own time. I ended up posting photos on my business page on facebook, and within minutes I received another request! The reason I'm posting here is: 1. to share my work, obviously, and 2. because I'm interested in hearing about some 'odd jobs' the rest of you may have taken on.
These were a blast to do, and there is definitely a bit of a learning curve to laying these out. The purple 'Hogs" mask was my first attempt. For the "Bullies" mask I took it a step further and included some silver leaf, and got the airbrush out to break up some of the empty space with some lightning. (My airbrush skills need some work, so I just went with a super easy effect).
