I keep 3m gold, an oshee all felt and a white geek wraps in my bag all the time, use all 3 for different applications. Like the rubber softer edge of the 3m gold at times the hard teflon edge of the geek wraps at times and the felt for matte materials certain wrap applications etc.

8510 is one of the easiest etched films to apply it is thicker than some of the other films on the market such as 3m 7725. I install smaller pieces of 8510 dry and call it good. Bigger panels or full coverage windows I would wet apply. Good luck

Just like mentioned before one shot clear will work fine, but I would not try to do it with just one mask unless you have experience doing so once the paint begins to dry it can bridge with the mask and cause fracturing. I would make a mask for the paint paint the image let dry till just tacky...
