Thank You! Is it possible I am doing something wrong? Roland's Roly-Poly is also a 10 mil film and claims to be edge curl resistent. I'm trying to avoid purchasing another roll or filing another claim for material that doesn't do what it says it should do.
I am having an edge curl issue with a couple of different materials. I first used an UltraFlex 15oz PET Blockout designed to prevent edge curl. No such luck. Then moved on to Roland's Roly-Poly. No luck there either. I have an image that is solid black with full bleed. Are my expectations...
I have the samples in hand and as stated on the product descriptions one is omega-bond (solid plastic core) and the other is omega signboard (plywood core). I've heard of Di-Bond as well so I just wanted to make sure it was the same as omega-bond. Thanks again all for the great info! The...
Alumalite was recommended to me by the company that sells the substrates. My original idea was with dibond but the salesman that distributes the stuff sold me otherwise. I haven't purchased anything yet but I think I like the dibond idea as well. Dibond and omega bond are the same right?
By using 2 sheets of alumalite with a frame in between I should be able to build it with plenty of support. Maybe not, but seems to me it's possible? Screwing a rigid board into a frame would prevent bowing in its self.
HAHAHA! Funny part is I am only doing as customer requested. They did the design from posts to requesting dimensional lettering. The shadowing is simply to show dimension. Again, I have nothing to do with design except for materials used. So my plan was---Gemini formed plastic, stud mount...
This definitely makes sense but I'm dealing with a 2 sided sign so I'm trying to avoid the added material. Not for cost but for changing the look on one side. I'm thinking about using the 1 x 4 idea but with a 1/2" routed channel down the middle. Put one on top and one on bottom. Think...
Thank you all! Referring back to OldPaint... Is the extra support for 1/2" alumalite absolutely necessary? I'm in upstate NY so not to crazy as far as weather. Just damn cold!
I am new to the sign making industry so thank you in advance for your help. I have a 5' x 10' sign (1/2" alumalite) being mounted between 2 4x4 posts. The posts will have a white veneer. Is there a product manufactured specifically for mounting alumalite in this application?
