We have an old Graphtec FC 8600-160 and it works just fine with an M1 Mac via Cutting Master.
One thing you do have to watch for is that Graphtec does not update Cutting Master as frequently as Adobe updates Illustrator, so Illustrator keeps getting ahead and there can be compatibility issues...
I can recommend https://www.tensioningsolutions.com/
Simple and very effective (and cost effective) system. Ron & Kathy are a pleasure to work with.
Here's an example
Another thing that has caught me out once before is the blade holder not being installed properly after changing a blade. Make sure its seated correctly and tightened.
I realize this doesn't exactly match your example, but these standoffs are great for doing what you're trying to do: https://www.wired4signsusa.com/collections/signage-standoffs
We use Briteline all the time and love it.
We use Wrapcast for commercial vehicle wraps and Duration X (2303) for flat surfaces. We also carry their el cheap vinyl (2203) for economy decals and short term signage.
We're happy with all of them their place. Briteline Wrapcast has proved to be...

Up to $20/hr to start with, depending on experience and proficiency.
I'm just an employee here, but I'll say one thing about the owner from my own experience, is that he's fair about paying employees what they are worth.
Looking for someone with some experience producing and installing vehicle wraps, vinyl graphics, and general signage. No qualifications needed, if you can do the work, that's what we need.
Comfortable hours and working environment. Central location near RDU. Start soon as possible.
I’ve been using Grimco’s Briteline Wrapcast vinyl for vehicle wraps for a couple of years and had good results. I was skeptical at first but it’s proven to be a reliable product and it’s competitively priced. I find it nicer to work with than IJ180 too.
Not sure where to post this as I don't know exactly what is causing my problem...
For several months I have been experiencing random registration mark detection issues with Caldera and our Graphtec FC8600-160 plotter.
This occurs when contour cutting printed vinyl.
90% of the time it works...
