That Rtape/VinylEFX stuff is junk, so unless it is a short term project, go with the real stuff.

We looked at all of them and in the end decided to have software custom built for us. Pricy up front, but got everything to work around US, not change our entire workflow to work around THEM. And, we own all of our data/software in the end.

Never used a Kala, but we laminate a LOT of vinyl on our GFP machines, and they track very straight and run w/o issues all day every day. Find & buy from a local dealer no matter what you're interested in, service will be needed eventually.

Recently one of our plotters has been not cutting certain areas on the vertical axis. It seems to be somewhat consistent on where, but other times it does it randomly, but it is always while the blade is traveling "up and down" the material. We have replaced the blade, blade holder, cutting...

Different plotters make weeding easier. We have multiple large format Graphtec FC9000 plotters, but we'd never cut small text on them. We use our Gerber plotters for small things like this as they are much more accurate, making for easier weeding.
