  2. Canon Colorado

We’ve had a 1650 for just over a year and can’t fault it. We run all our jobs at matt quality and it’s still plenty quick enough. They’re expensive but after upgrading from Hp Latex we’re saving so much time and wasted media as we no longer have colour and reliability issues. We only print...
  3. Will they have to redo this when quality control comes through?

Googled this venue to find out it’s a family resort, the artwork is unsophisticated and looks cheap….maybe they’re getting what they paid for. It’s a lazy print job that someone is going to lose a bit of coin on. Those pics triggered bad memories of our long gone 800w.
  4. New printer recommendations

We went from 800w Latex to Colorado 1650 a year ago before the M series were released, this printer literally changed our lives. The slight raised prints on clear and frosted aren’t an issue, just different from Latex. Saw the M series at Fespa, we’ll eventually upgrade to it. You just need the...
  5. HP latex 700w: bad printer, bad support, advice needed. How did you return/replace your HP 700/800?

We returned our replacement 800w after 18 months of heartache for us and our local reseller and replaced it with a Colorado 1650. While we had the 800w we dabbled in white print on glazing films. For this application the 800w white ink was stunning and we completed some beautiful, high end...
  6. Need recommendation for entry level flatbed cutter

Hey BB If possible outsource your FB cutting in the short term. We printed with Onyx, generated Zund marks and dropped off the media and cut file on a thumb drive to a local printer for finishing. Of course we had issues with timing as they fitted in our jobs when the Zund was free but we...
  7. Dimense printer - cutting

Hi Peter, this sounds frustrating, can the team at Summa help you? Send them some samples to try, maybe some whizkid Tech there could sort this out for you.
  8. Dimense printer - cutting

We trim flat non woven wallpaper on our 1612 using the kiss cut blade without issues. I’ve seen the “soft” Dimense prints and assumed you’d need to double cut at installation which is not ideal for DIY hanging. Have Dimense been able to offer any solution?
  9. Question what manual cutter do i want?

We trimmed wallpapers by hand with a Keencut for 6 years. Business was good so we then printed the wallpapers with Zund marks and ran the rolls to a local sign shop for trimming on their Zund. Business was even better so we purchased a F1612 and bought all the production in house. No more late...

Here’s a link to Canon’s Australian Insta page, hopefully it works
  11. Cat's out of the bag

Bets on name? 1660 or 1650w.
  12. Looking for a fotoba digitrim or xy cutter

We had a look at the Fotoba and Miura a while ago for our wallpaper finishing. From memory the Miura uses crush cutters and when the wp is butted up you could see the join as the cut wasn’t “square”. We went with a Summa F 1612 and haven’t looked back, with the barcode workflow and the mm...
  13. Input on choosing a new printer

We went from a old but solid 26500 to a 800w. The white ink is amazing and perfect for glazing films. This is our second 800 as the first was a pig, even with the new one we have the tech out twice a month. We’re lucky to have excellent local support. Epson sounds like a good option.
  14. Onyx cut line issue

Hi Ikarasu, did 22 fix the cut issue? We’ve had the same issue with 21 and our 1612, my work around on wallpapers is adding extra width to the print file and deselecting the last tile to print.
  15. Epson r5070 - anyone got one?

Yeah we have a 800w which we nurse daily. For wallpapers it’s a total PITA but for glazing films and white it’s perfect. We might look at a Resin for the wallpapers, how’s the smell when it prints? Also did you ever consider a Colorado?
