Hey everyone! While my machine is printing fine, every so often it sounds a bit funny. The normal zwoop zwoop sound it makes when the carriage moves back and forth lowers in pitch for a few rounds before it goes back to normal. Wondering if that is a sign the rods need to be cleaned/ oiled...

That worked perfectly! Thank you! I've been printing on 40C 10R- Clear for months and with the controltac it's not exactly the most "clear".

Apologies for bringing this thread back from the grave, but any tips on printing on this material? I usually don't use plastic liners and am worried about it "shrinky dinking" on the print bed. Is this a material you advise taping up first? Or do you have a preferred starting temp or interpass...

I think you're right. After taking a second look at the Optimizer section on my test- it's not showing any cross marks at all. I compared it to one I ran a few weeks ago and at least there I can see faint marks. I'm still learning how to read these tests for this machine. Welp- sure hope they...

Vacuum was at 20, though honestly I didn't mess around with it much. That may be a setting to look at in the future.

I didn't even think about that. This is why you guys are great! I'll do a plot test. You may be right about the vinyl lifting on curves. It seemed to improve earlier when I slowed it down which would make sense.

Our shop uses the 3M Controltac 40C-10R as a staple for white - I think there is a matte version, 20R perhaps? Just make sure it's suitable for your printer. I have a Latex printer. I'm still trying to find a good clear myself.

I wish I could say the same, but as someone with a background in GRDS I had many a peer use the text feature in Photoshop (or a free equivalent) and think that was good. They design it at "high resolution" and think that's good enough. Lots of digital illustrator friends taking up side work of...
