  1. Lexjet Latex 831 Inks

Isn't LexJet essentially a subsidiary distribution company that's owned by HP's media division or something? I wouldn't be surprised if HP is just selling their own refurb inks under LexJet's brand name so that they can control production.
  2. Squeegee marks on lamimated vinyl

Finally something that PBR is good for
  3. Template for sign feet / easel back / a-frame

Every now and then a client will be looking for a self-standing display board. I've used SpiderFeet stands but they can be cost prohibitive for short term signs. I see a lot of signs with custom cut feet (like the attached photo) or with extra large easel backs but I can't find any sort of...
  4. Xante x-98 Thoughts

I have no idea about their flatbeds, I was just referring to their digital printers that I've come across aka the Impressia and EnPress.
  5. Xante x-98 Thoughts

In my experience (mostly with digital printers) Xante printers are built like toys too. Lots of plastic and not a lot of support
  6. Display stakes/frame for 20x5ft banner?

It's going to be a ground stake/frame, not a wall/face mounted frame. I asked the client how long they plan on having it displayed and their answer was 'on a near constant basis'. A quick google search comes up with a lot of frames like the attached image but they're all from online retail...
  7. Display stakes/frame for 20x5ft banner?

A federal client is looking for a 20x5ft outdoor banner and they need a display frame/system. Are there any recommendations for ground stakes/frames for this? Im considering either 18oz. scrim vinyl or fabric...any thoughts?
  8. Curious about different brands SAV pricing/quality

I could see GF shrinking more, but surprisingly the GF 214 shrinks less than the MacTac RB428. In fact the 214 seems to hardly shrink at all, same with HP's Prime Air which is polymeric. The only Drytac vinyl I've used is SpotOn and that stuff shrank so quickly it was wild.
  9. Curious about different brands SAV pricing/quality

Can someone give me a little 101 on SAV? Here's the background – I used to use HP's Prime Matte Air SAV and their Polymeric Overlam because it's surprisingly cheap and works great for everything we do (primarily generic display boards/yard signs/stickers) Then a rep from a local independent...
  10. Best vinyl for university table decals?

This is pretty much what I told the client haha, except that my spin on it was that nothing is going to prevent students picking at these so just accept that and buy a lot more stickers at once so that you can replace them as needed. Im just not that familiar with all the different type of...
  11. Thick Paper on HP Latex not staying flat on Print Bed?

I've always had issues running 54in rolls of paper on our 560. After countless times trying to get it to work I now just use a 42in roll of Sihl 3686 and outsource anything larger (which isn't very often).
  12. Best vinyl for university table decals?

A local university library is looking for decals to be applied to tables. (if it matters these are mostly commercial desks/tables with smooth or eggshell surfaces). The decals are ~4x4in. square and they're thinking about a couple hundred of them to start...nothing crazy. One of their...
  13. Small shop looking for employee management advice

This is honestly really impressive and whether or not you program your own database or go with an MIS the next step definitely seems like focusing on/investing in making the database/MIS the backbone of your shop. We used to use handwritten job tickets before we switched to using PrintSmith a...
  14. Suggestions What media would be good for art prints on an eco solvent printer? *not canvas*

Check out LexJet, we order all of our fine art medias from them. They aren't wholesale but they started off specializing in aqueous print media and they have a ton of experience and a huge product offering including name brands and their own house brand (which just like most other materials is...
  15. Small shop looking for employee management advice

How are you all currently tracking/managing orders? This problem might be a somewhat simple fix by looking at how the order details are communicated (i.e. if there's a job ticket with all of the order details so that any employee can see the job instructions)
