  1. SP540v - need help, "turn on power again" error

I know this is an old post but after having the same issue I felt it worth reporting my resolution to the same issue incase someone needs it in the future. The problem is indeed to do with the control panel button circuit. Instead it’s about a poor connection with the flex cable to the panel...
  2. Lines in print

It is a bit like car tyres, as they wear the speed your doing changes albeit by a small amount and that is because the wheel is basically getting smaller so the speed your meter is saying your doing is greater than what your physically doing. As the printer gets worn it too changes but instead...
  3. Lines in print

This is an example of the i2 weaving that goes on, I'm assuming this happens on all colours and that there is a problem with the spacing on these weaves when the printer advances for the next pass. Hopefully just a spacing setting that's been changed by accident. It appears to be over printing...
  4. Lines in print

Ok it appears that the waves are uniform to the image. There is a darker tint evenly spaced. These would be what I would consider. - is there any contaminant on the head or the carriage - is the head or carriage touching the media when printing - are the heads vertically level and sealing...
  5. Pricing 4x4 signs?

Interesting argument, we have currently gone from the commidty model to the "price is the price" model. The result: Reduced footfall but higher margin, this in turn translates into about the same money margin wise but for less effort, also those ackward customers go elsewhere and you are left...
  6. Fire Rated Vinyl

Fire rated or intumescent, in the purpose of a door is intended to keep it as air tight as possible in order to give people longer to exit a building safely. Fire signs on doors are normally stainless steel with a silk screen coating applied and are normally to advise the door must be kept shut...
  7. VJ 1204 Banding problems.

Yes from a cleaning cartridge is fine. It is the same composite as the inks so will soften or thin the ink.
  8. VJ 1204 Banding problems.

I've hear some people use cloths as supplied with glasses, others using old t-shirt cloth. This importance is lint free as not to add contamination to the heads.
  9. VJ 1204 Banding problems.

NO. Leave the head in place. To head soak you normally position lint free cloth (wetted in cleaning solution) between the capping station and the head. About 15 minute intervals you add more solution to the cloth and repeat for upto 2 hours. Then run a cleaning cycle straight away then nozzle...
  10. VJ 1204 Banding problems.

I believe that is causing it. A missing nozzle means banding issues. You have three.
  11. VJ 1204 Banding problems.

Have you performed a nozzle check. It appears you have a lost nozzle(s) and a nozzle check will reveal if this is the case and which colour(s) it is on. Normally a head soak for 1-2 hours using cleaning fluid helps to release this.
  12. What the client wants VS what I designed.

Design might not be right but there might be a reason for it. I'm not an outline lover myself, but it is worth remembering as I do with web design. The client is paying for a service. All you can do is offer advice. Ultimately you are hired to do a job. Its not up to you to decide weather it is...
  13. Black/cyan Head not firing.

Found this, appears to be on the main board. hope that helps.
  14. Jv33 won't boot up after head replacement

I'm used to the mutohs and they warn if a head fuse is blown not sure if the mimaki does, Might be worth testing these with the machine off and an ohm meter to ensure none are blown. They are anti surge ones so will blow very easy to protect the head. if you have to buy some then buy a few.
  15. Surprise installation

If the area is only to be marked, then use a couple of paving slabs. She can say that she is planning something for the garden and wanted to see how it looks. Half truth is more believable than a full blown.
