Issue was the optimizer printhead. One had gone out and the other one (brand new) i had was defective - just weird that it was causing the exact problem as the one that was just old. Bought another new one and it was fine. Literally has happened before so. i don’t know why i didn’t think about...

What i meant by perfect is that there aren’t chunks of the print missing to show clogged heads. I tested and old printhead and you can visibly see like half the heads clogged. Found out the issue (above).

I replaced the optimizer already. so i know it’s not that. I guess i would have expected to see a lot more missing out of the nozzles for it to actually affect anything like this.

I guess i was just under the impression that if no heads were clogged then it wouldn’t cause issues but now that i say it i guess that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Back when i had my 315 it was definitely the case. Maybe it just shows up differently on this printer? Issues i mean.

Ran cleaning and alignment. basically perfect printing on the status chart. No clogged nozzles. Tried replacing Optimizer printhead because i saw the some bleeding too, fixed the bleeding but no change to the banding. Just showing in Pink and Green. I’m sure i should know this by now but...

Figured it out. Turning off OMAS in the substrate settings doesn’t do anything. you need the tech code to go into the deep settings and turn off OMAS there. That and an alignment got it working perfectly. I didn’t have the code until now but mine was 2703 in case future printers need it. I...

Oh ya, forgot to mention another issue. so no, these have always been the same size rolls. But they’re only 25” wide. can’t do the advance calibration with material that small.

So i’m using a unique material (it’s literally the material that i wanted this printer specifically to print on). First six months it works great but over time ONLY this material starts messing with the printer in a couple horrible ways. Important point: it’s very shiny. the back is normal...
