  1. Wrapping with non air egress vinyl

I was hoping that someone might have some experience with doing a wrap with non air egress vinyl. Here is the scenario. I have a local body shop who wants me to install vinyl on the rear doors of a Sears van that they repaired. I went to their shop to look at the job and the vinyl that has been...
  2. sectioning a wrap on a suv

I am looking for advice about sectioning a wrap design for a 2002 trailblazer. I have a 54" printer so if I do a horizontal panel I will have to section about 1 foot either at the top of the truck or bottom. If I do vertical panels I can section them at the seams without a lot of waste since as...
  3. Your opinion on fresh auto paint

One thing to discuss with your customer is that if these graphics are ever to be removed for any reason, they will leave and imprint in the clear... unless you wait about 30 days. It takes acrylic urethanes 30 to 60 days to cure 100% depending on the part of the country even if they are oven...

Hey you were totally right about the gpgl and hpgl settings. When I use cutting master 2 it throws the machine into gpgl and wasatch won't communicate any longer. I changed the condition priority to manual and that will also help with software changing my settings. I was getting very fustrating...
  5. strange behavior

I have the interface command set at auto because that is suppose to allow it to switch back and forth between hpgl and gpgl. My cable is 16 feet long... is that pushing the limits?
  6. strange behavior

Has anyone ever sent a file to be contour cut by a your graphtec and instead of reading the registration marks it just cuts a several small digits and quits? I have a new fc8000 that I have been struggling with to do contour cuts. I print with Mutoh 1304 and RIP with Wasatch. After struggling...
  7. Illustrator Question (easy one)

Sorry about my last reply, I should have reloaded the page before submitting my post. Bad timing. Glad you got it!!!
  8. Illustrator Question (easy one)

So you go to the type menu and select "convert to outlines". Try restarting the computer and making a new file from scratch. Also try to deselect a fill color and only use your stroke color with only 1 pt stroke. Then try to do a direct selection on only two letters at a time. Somethings gotta...
  9. Illustrator Question (easy one)

What I do is convert the text to outlines. Select the word, go to the pathfinder pallete, hold down the alt key and click on the "unite" button which is the first in the upper left. Very easy to remember. Good luck with it.

  11. mutoh prints right and left border

Major Thanks! Worked exactly as described.
  12. mutoh prints right and left border

I have been printing with my Mutoh 1304 for about a month and it always prints a right and left border approximately .25 inches in from the media edge. This is a problem when you are trying to print a banner. Does anyone know how to stop it from doing this. I use Signlab 8 Print and Cut. Is it a...
  13. mutoh firmware

Call mutoh tech and they will lead you right to their firmware on their ftp site. I have done it and it is easy.
  14. Contour cut not read by Versaworks sometimes

Just make sure that you have flattened transparency. Sometimes you have to copy the artwork into a new file, flatten, and then bring it back into the file with the cutline, resave and versaworks will read it then. Kind of a wierd quirky thing, it used to get me occassionally when I used versaworks.
  15. Trailer Wrap Idea

I like the first a little bit better. I read it as a tear, I think maybe it just needs a stronger dropshadow and highlight. It is a nice look. I especially like the textures in the orange and black.
  16. signlab 8 value

It is very hard to just jump into Signlab 8, especially when you are so busy already. I have found the rip to be confusing... like you said, too many variables. Thanks for the reply because I don't want to be out of line with my price and I don't want to give it away. If its a bargain, that is good.
  17. signlab 8 value

Not getting any responses on this sooo... I went ahead and listed it if anyone is interested. It is in the classifieds for $1600.
  18. signlab 8 value

I have a 1304 mutoh and a mutoh sc1400d cutter. I design in Adobe but have been using Signlab 8 to rip, print, and cut. I do not design with Signlab 8 nor do I have a desire to do so. I would like to switch to just a nice rip, print and cut software like Wasatch. I have read many of the threads...
