  1. Possible newbie issue. Start milling mat job and the router moves to top-tight and gets stuck

Sometimes weird things happen when you work on the limits. Always try to set a smaller work area than the physical work area
  2. Hi, CNC router operator new to sign making.

Lol.. Not so sure about YouTube.. You can easily loose days there.. So many interesting things.
  3. Hi, CNC router operator new to sign making.

Nice to have you around.. I'm from the UK, but have worked in many industries, so can help with most subjects.. Lol
  4. Let's Build a DTF Printer (For as cheap as possible!)

Where did you get the nano code? Sounds an interesting little project..
  5. Repairing roller

Perhaps in the future.. Don't allow people to damage your machines. They don't need to have sharp knives anywhere near rollers.. If they mess up and get laminate wrapped around the rollers, then perhaps they shouldn't be using them. Remember.. Your machines pay their salaries.. And yours...
  6. Any tricks to masking and painting three colors on a small piece in close proximity?

Depends really on how much you're charging.. Vinyl is cheapest and easiest, but paint will last the longest but will take the longest to apply. Look at your margins and what the customer wants.. Afterall. You are providing a service to the customer.. Go with what they want. If the quote is too...
  7. Roland GX24 will not cut when file is sent to it

Best way to stop updates is to change Internet connection settings to “Metered Connection” - that way you still have Internet connection, but it doesn't attempt to update.. But.. In reality, production machines shouldnt be Internet connected as they're your money maker.. Any issues costs you...
  8. Help with wrapping a boat

Always remember that boats are often waxed or have release coats - this doesn't play well with any adhesive product.
  9. HELP - Roland GX-24 Issue

The easiest solution is to tell it you're on a restricted data account.. That way it never attempts to download updates. Tbh, it's not necessarily good practice to have production computers connected to the Internet, no Internet.. No problems like viruses, updates, etc.. Just share the...
  10. Need Help I AM IN WAY OVER MY HEAD

Capable of. Get some scrap - start slow and play is the best way, then speed up with production.
  11. Need Help I AM IN WAY OVER MY HEAD

Probably the best program for you would be Millmage or carbide create. Millmage is basically lightburn for Cnc machines - so if you already use lightburn, it's an easy step. Carbide create is similar. As for speeds and feeds, there are various calculators on the net - they'll give you a...
  12. What's the thickest/deepest item you printed directly on to with a UV Flatbed? Something more than golf balls

I remember the company.. Great idea, but ultimately obviously not making enough money from it - should be possible to recreate, just need to split colour away from z height and put head on z rail. It's all down to how much money you will (not could) make v cost of making such a machine.. I think...
  13. Help with making aluminum signs!

I'd use a fiber laser if he's producing name plates - you need something indelible for those. Plus they're quick and easy to use for many types of etching, cutting, etc.. I use one all the time - The Chinese software isn't the best, but it works.. I use lightburn which is much better.. If you...
  14. CNC Router options for printed sheets.

Lol.. This is getting silly now.. Try breathing 100% nitrogen or Argon and see how well that goes for you.. Equally 100% oxygen.. "Air" has oxygen in it.. Hence things burn.. No oxygen.. No burn.. Ask any welder what happens if they don't use a shielding gas (flux shields the weld from...
  15. CNC Router options for printed sheets.

Yes.. Polycarbonate will emit yellow smoke and fumes when cut using air assist. Nitrogen is not air.. Also ANY plastics being cut requires fume extraction. Do you cut aluminium with aluminum nitride coated tools? NO - because it galls - They are great for cutting steel, but not aluminium.. Its...
  16. CNC Router options for printed sheets.

I cut polycarbonate with a laser all day long.. Good fume extraction and nitrogen = perfect cuts. Best way for a beginner as well as its cheap to setup and has great results - more like a printer rather than a machine tool. Routers are better for materials that can't be cut with a laser or if...
  17. CNC Router options for printed sheets.

As with most plastics - fume extraction is a must, but using nitrogen results in cleaner cuts as there's no oxidation. Of course when cutting wood - you want it to burn quickly - that's why you can cut it - because it burns, then chars which resists the heat - cuts rather than sets it alight -...
  18. CNC Router options for printed sheets.

Lol.. Of Course you can cut polycarbonate - that's why I said nitrogen or argon.. No fire. It burns if you use air assist, that's why you use nitrogen. Nitrogen also stops charring on most materials.
  19. CNC Router options for printed sheets.

Well.. You've got a few options.. Personally. I'd laser cut them. Co2 lasers in that size are relatively cheap and easy to use.. No tool bits to setup and hard software to understand. The only thing with polycarbonate is that it's best to use nitrogen when cutting to stop charring - but...
  20. Question What’s the Best Humidity and Temperature for a UV Printers?

It's not so much the printer - more the substrate you're printing on. Humidity to low = Static. Too high = curling and sometimes adhesion issues. The ink cures with uv light, so environmental issues don't really affect it that much.
