Solution!!! It was due to the reflective material. I taped an 8" piece of regular vinyl lead and it went off without a problem.

Where would I find the encoder strip? I know where the sensor is in the back... but no idea about the strip. And the manual is missing pages, so if it has a breakdown of where things are, that's gone forever.

For some reason I can't cut from Flexi anymore after some update my IT guy did to my computer and he can't figure out what went wrong. I tried to export it, I keep getting some weird error message and the file won't open (Ai or eps). I have no idea why. Yes, the font IS in Flexi, but not...
