  3. Free Avery Vinyl

If they are trying to make up for it, they can start by paying ma all the labor time I lost having to replace their product, that they wouldn't stand behind. Untill then, they can talk all they want about their new great product. Remember, reps are just sales people. How do you know when a...

I am not a huge fan of Avery either, as I had some failure with them in the past. I do however have some Utlra Met and will give it a try.
  5. Metallic printable vinyl

Thanks for the info. I know I can lam printable clear on it. Just wonder if one was made for printing, which doesnt sound like there is. I think a manufacturer should make something like this. I also understand color shifting with the different white points of the metallics vinyls.
  6. Metallic printable vinyl

Are there any metallic printable vinyls out there? Something like a white or silver metallic? Maybe even a printable white pearl vinyl. With the trend going towards metalics, something that I used to print on (high performance die cut vinyl) with a thermal transfer printer, 3-4 years ago...

  12. Removing 751 from Vehicle

I found that using, tripod halogen utlity lights work great to heat up large areas. I use 2 sets, if it's a large area. Put the light a few feet away and let it heat up the entire area, then move them out of the way, but still close enough to supply heat, while removing the vinyl. You may need...
  13. Material suggestions for thermal print box truck

I agree, I would outsource the printing to a large format eco-solvent printer. 3m 180 with a 3m 8518 lam. Thermal print would be very costly.

That may be true, but if they weren't profiled for the higher res settings, then the profile wouldn't be accurate.
  17. Roland Pc600 for small full color decals?

The learning curve on the PC600 was fairly immense, but once you firgured it out it worked well. Yes it was slow, but for the price and small runs it had it's place. That being said, I now have a vp300, which is an all around WAY better machine. I sold my 600 just before the solvent ink...
  18. Print & Cut

I also found that slowing the cut to 10 mm makes the world of difference. At higher speeds you can watch the vinyl start to skew as it tracks.
  19. Roland VP-540

    The encoder strip is dirty.
  20. Print & Cut

It is a very simple fix. The encoder strip is dirty. Take a soft cloth and gently wipe it down. It is located behind the track that the print head/cutter rides on. It runs the lenght of the printer track, you can see a spring on the left side of the track that attached to the strip.
