    Alps discontinued manufacturing printers a couple of years ago. They still offer factory refurbished units for a fee if you send in a broken one, and at this time are still selling the ribbons. No telling how much longer they will still be available.

    The Alps 5000 is the newest model, still available to send in for replacement, and has the highest resolution. It also has an optional dye sub plug in available. If this is the type of printer you want, I wouldn't buy anything but the 5000.

    Bob is the man, when it comes to Graphtec. He has helped me more than Graphtec support ever has. It can be frustrating to get a new piece of equipment, and want to throw it in the Dumpster. In case I didn't thank you before, Bob thanks for helping me not to go dumpster diving.

    I have a Graphtec FC7000-130 that is only 2 weeks old. I noticed that the firmware on my plotter is version 1.2, and the latest is 1.52. My question is, should I update, or leave things alone. The plotter seems to be working just fine. Is their any advantages/disadvantages to updating? :help:

    I do not have a Roland printer, so I can not speak from experience, but it is my understanding that Roland has developed their ink to only work well with their own media. This could be completely false, but worth looking into.

    Does anyone know this font

    This was hand painted about 20 years ago. I would like to know if anyone knows a font that might look similar.
