  1. hp designjet 5500 good/bad?

I run genuine HP inks as the after market that I have tried is not much cheaper than my supplier, and usually run out faster and do not look as good. I run probably 3 and sometimes 4 (yellow) cartridges of ink before changes and before banding appears. The banding is most apparent in dark...
  2. Bitstream Navigator over network......

noticed the other thread right after i posted... just went off of the email commentary.
  3. Corel X3 "training"

some very stunning work that the artist has done. He's held in high regard overseas and in the magazine community, from what I've read and seen. I've almost bought his training many times, but I keep seeing new videos that teach me more tricks that I continue to work on.
  4. Bitstream Navigator over network......

    when did that come out?
  5. Bitstream Navigator over network......

No vista here, but I'm going to try it next week across a few systems we have here. There are tons of various fonts floating around that all 3 need, but dont have.
  6. Bitstream Navigator over network......

Could you not 'map' the folder with the fonts from station a to station b, then add those to the navigator? Or why not just copy them from A to B?
  7. Sunburst from landscape logo...

look of the finished product? I must be missing something.
  8. My first truck wrap

You can also send tiles as separate jobs too. Is that possible with versaworks? That would be one of the best options I'd think. Each tile is ripped separately so you can hold or move around the queue when needed.
  9. Printing Drop Shadows

Thats what I've been doing for years and years. I usually convert that to a raster image at 72dpi or 100dpi... otherwise its problematic when sending to print (for large large shadows) or it rebuilds when sized up or down to that 300dpi. There is an option to set that to a lower resolution...
  10. Printing Drop Shadows

There it is! I think splitting the drop shadow through the object manager is what I've been missing. I'll see how it works on some huge files soon enough.
  11. Printing Drop Shadows

bob, nice description. I just seem to have a problem getting it to show up in draw. It always comes back as a blank object. I'll try your method verbatim and see whats going on in just a minute.
  12. Printing Drop Shadows

bob, could you explain how you are using the interactive shadow in PhotoPaint and getting it back into Draw? I've been trying for a while now, but I've never been able to get it to work. Open/import/etc and actually selecting and using lens gives me a major headache. I know they work well...
  13. Printing Drop Shadows

I've had problems getting the drop shadow in photopaint to open in draw as well. I just build them in draw and continue on... I'll also set (some) drop shadows to 100/100/100/100. Though it won't drop that much ink when printed (due to the fade/gradient of it) they look much better... the...
  14. Hello from yet another customer taker.....

    ah you finally posted!
  15. This has stumped a chump!

I too would do it with vector by hand, then go back and create the wind ticks, then mask and paint by hand. Would look much better I'm sure.
  16. Color between programs

I'm not sure... from Draw! to Illustrator my colors look completely different too. Check Tools>Color Management and see if you can get them to work together.
  17. Hello from the Beerman

Not 999,999.99? that looks better on the books!
  18. Hello from the Beerman

Seems like I have a few of yall in here now... I'm curious (recent job I finished) what would 1000' of 3'x5' full color banners run from one of yall? lets say a cheap (not bond) but matte 8mil polypropylene thats water resistant (or non, doesn't matter).
  19. Hello from the Beerman

We don't make outdoor signs for bars, Texas alcohol laws prohibit outdoor signs (in all but one or two very limited licenses types) Vehicle lettering is farmed out. Our company logo was just redesigned and the vinyl lettering/logo was cut and installed by another company. In less than a year...
  20. Hello from the Beerman

I guess its not too hard to figure out I work in-house for an A-B distributor (along with many other specialty brands now). Well Shovelhead, I'll have to post some pictures of my work, hopefully you'll be impressed. There are quite a few sign shops around here, though I haven't seen any that...
