we selected this printer over others due to it being able to print on medias up to 4 inches thick; and we loved the dedicated flatbed for special applications where having a dedicated bed would be nice. The Durst and Vutek can only handle medias 1.5" and 2" respectively; and we were really...
Been waiting a while; but my Flatbed printer finally arrived!
Installation will occur over the next 48 hours, and I am really eager to get printing!
I always was looking for photos of an installation in progress for reference of a grand format flatbed printer and had a hard time finding any...
hahaha; I LOVE solutions that sell more product.
in all seriousness; I agree with Speedsterbeast... you protected that bit of their paint from fading. If it were me I would tell them this, and then not do their next bus *sigh*
Anyone know a good place to get used/broken spectra printheads? specifically those in the 128 range of Spectra heads.
Just need them to test their resistance and reactions to different ink mixtures, so i'm not using perfectly new heads. they don't need to be functional.
...If anyone has a...
this is a good topic.... Im curious what other people are using for UV inks... anyone have experience with the 3M Flexible inks? or other flexible inks?

phew, 'under $100k' for a dye-ink only print system seems a little overpriced...
i've had nothing but bad luck with dye inks. Fade instantly even indoors sometimes for me.
too bad it can't do pigment, that would change things... oh well.
including renovations and building costs.... ~600k. I'm having someone fly in to help do install.

PS. looking for someone in the area who might be interested in working with us to maintain this machine on a daily basis.... anyone want some part time work? haha
hahaha! that would be tough.
we have a 90'x50' first floor space for it that has 25' wide garage doors at both ends. Installation should be cake. When it's in the area we are installing glass walls and clean room floors and ceilings around the device and working area.

print accuracy is apparently higher when the print head can control printing over a very still media... I personally enjoy the idea of printing a 4x8 inside of the machine without having media feeding in and out. It just seems more efficient to me.... perhaps not significantly better; but it...
I loved that it could do a 4'8 board inside the machine by moving the head and not the media, but you can do 8' wide and infinitely long as long as you have a large enough building.
We plan on our first real print being 8'x40' for our wall hehe :D
so, x-y head movement, or just x movement for...
Just bought a Virtu RS 25 printer... going to be installed next week (if all goes according to plan...)

Any general flatbed printer 'heads up' warnings that I should know coming from a roll-to-roll printer?
I'm really excited to do...
