well predominantly litho packaging print here and my tool of choice is illy - only on cs3 at the mo - current climate cant justify the upgrades
i've never used corel - seems its popular in the sign industry - but i have to say in my trade is hardly used at all - illy is the most popular by far...
place in indy and re-fry the pdf out
or open in acrobat a take a peek
opening in illy (do NOT let the "adobe" police hear you're doing this) is ok if fonts are outlined - you might get errors and font issues if not - file size may be fun too
i agree the pdf may be a 1.7 or pdfx4 - probably...
