  1. San Francisco Area Backup

I wish we had someone staying back, we're a small shop and need the supervision for the laborers that will be working. This project is probably the biggest we have ever done when it comes to quantity. Big client, big venue, big budget...anything could happen and we wanted to be prepared.
  2. San Francisco Area Backup

Ok, here's the deal. We have a client that we will be working with installing graphics at the Hilton in Union Square in San Francisco between Friday September 13 thru Sunday September 15th. Our shop will be empty, all hands on deck. Plus we are going to be miles away from Chicago. So if...
  3. FB700 Losing Network Connection?

This is a new one for us. Our FB700 will intermediately lose connection with Caldera. I'll send over three jobs and one will make it. The printer is set to a Static IP which our IT guys set up so it doesn't have to pull from the IP pool. If you go to the network settings on the FB and just...
  4. Printing to HPL (high pressure laminate)

I let a piece sit for about 3 days last week and still the same problem. I even took some masking tape to the edge and it pulled the ink right off. I've switched up the lamps to medium and high, no improvement. Maybe it's matters on which HPL it is. We are using a Designer White from Wilsonart.
  5. Printing to HPL (high pressure laminate)

It's like your reading my mind! That was my second idea the minute this whole printing laminate idea came around. We are trying printing to 1mm Sintra today and using that. I have a feeling it will hold up better but you won't be able to get the wilsonart adhesive off the panel without taking...
  6. Printing to HPL (high pressure laminate)

Alright, so our shop purchased a FB700 and it's a great fit for us. Now the owner wants to see us print to HPL. If you don't know what that is, think formica counter top. The trade show company that we provide graphics for puts the laminate on panels for exhibits. They want custom colors...
  7. Latex Printing on Fabrics

The finishing ranges from velcro (like the Hytera job) to Silicone Edge material (like Brunswick) All cutting and finishing is done in house. We are a very small shop so I've learn to run our Juki lockstitch machine very well!
  8. Latex Printing on Fabrics

Ok here are 4 exhibits our shop did the graphics for. The Brunswick booth has lots of latex fabric, the upper panels and the images of the bowlers...all latex. Hytera's upper id system is also latex fabric. The stuff works great!
  9. Latex Printing on Fabrics

I can only speak for our uses but tension fabric on aluminum frames is one of our big markets. The latex printed textile is great for fabric structures at trade shows that are only going to see 1-3 shows and then get tossed. It's no where as durable as dye sub but it still works great for us...
  10. Latex Printing on Fabrics

Speaking of Aberdeen, has anyone received sample books from them? I've called twice and received nothing. Berger, Neschen and Top Value are over priced for the small difference in color and scratch resistance
  11. Latex Printing on Fabrics

95% of what comes off our Latex 850 is textiles. We print primarily Fisher Textiles GF4417 Soft Knit and Triple White. Get a hold of James Gay at Fisher Textiles and tell him what your looking for. He's a great guy and knows his stuff. We even showed him that the latex can print on sheer...
  12. Lx850 users

We have had our 850 for almost 2 years. I will not tell you it's a perfect machine. When it works, it's great but when it's being fussy, it sure can be a pain. It likes to run and not sit for any period of time. We use to print our backlits on HP backlit film, the film runs at 250% ink...
  13. high production printing cost on HP Latex printer

We are running the Latex 850, which I know is a little different then the "baby" latex printers. We are at about 15 cents per ink, so 90 cents a sqft total in ink.
  14. Hp third generation latex printers-latex 3000

It's too bad they don't have plans to develop any upgrades for the people who have the Latex 850. It definitely could use some!
  15. Magenta looking dark, kinda raspberry

I'm profiling Sintra on our FB700 thru Caldera/Easy Media. 100% Magenta is a lot darker than I've seen before after a full run though on the profile. It's almost raspberry color. A little stumped on the cause. Maybe the media is not bright enough? Don't know
  16. Backlit profiling with i1 pro 2?

My boss and I were just discussing this after I posted this. We have a 5 x 10' lightbox with fluorescent ballasts in it and fluorescent bulbs in the room. So what we see might be what the final viewing after install is or could be something different (maybe LEDs are being used, etc) I'm going...
  17. Backlit profiling with i1 pro 2?

Ok, we finally got our new spectro (i1 pro 2) and I'm profiling for our LX850. Next up will be profiling for the FB700 which is sitting here but gets installed tomorrow. I've heard that a special spectro is needed for backlit profiling. Is there a useable work around for profiling backlits...
  18. Fsck :: Hp l25500

Is it the first time it's been turned on and off this month? I know our LX850 does a file system check at the beginning of each month when powered on. Ours did it this morning because it was shut down Friday
  19. FC8000 cutting quality poor

Yeah, we are ordering some new blades to see if that helps, I have a feeling the old blades got put back as spares in an emergency situation. So i looked like we had new blades, Worst idea ever! - - - Updated - - - Yeah, we are ordering some new blades to see if that helps, I have a feeling...
  20. FC8000 cutting quality poor

And the blade holder is not loose. Had that happen once, you can't forget that jiggling noise! - - - Updated - - - And the blade holder is not loose. Had that happen once, you can't forget that jiggling noise!
