the md5000 can also be a pain....
But, holds up much better outdoors and can print straight to vinyl...
The Roland PC-12 is almost the same printer with an added cut feature.
Fred is correct(again), I miss worded....:-)
I didn't have any of the losses as can happen with JPG....
I have most always had issues with JPG...They are great for web..
But not for print.....
I use the PSD, as it's higher res than a JPG or other raster type....
It is still a little grainy, due to being raster graphics.
I try and make sure all type is done with vector.(use as little raster as possible)
I have a bunch of the www.papilio.com inkjet paper, and have LOTS of issues with it bonding to the substrate.
Had send around 200 of them back due to no adhesive on the back also.
And getting the right color profile for the papilio took some time also.
The laminate they have is a matte...
I'm with Techman, I have never had great results with Frog Juice on anything printed.......
It is VERY harsh and takes a VERY long time to dry, even when used in very light coats....
I use my Alps to make VERY short run small vinyl decals.
I work up the files in Flexi and send to the Alps for printing with Registration Marks, then load it into my Graphtec Cutter and line up Registration marks and contour cut them......
Works great.
