  1. Newbie!! cant get sc540 to connect to pc

open a command window, and run ipconfig. It will list the current IP adress, subnet mask and default gateway of the PC. Using net-tool match the subnet and gateway of the PC to the printer, and the first 3 groups of the IP address. Use ping and the address in the command window to check if an...
  2. Newbie!! cant get sc540 to connect to pc

As far as i know, a switch cannot connect anything, but splits data from a router between 2 things. You'd have to connect both the PC and the printer to a router, or the switch to a router to get things to connect. The printer needs a static IP address that isn't currently being used, as well as...
  3. 3m Icc Profile

The profile on 3M's website for "Gloss cast vinyl" covers IJ180C and IJ380C if memory serves me.
  4. VS-420 just replaced printhead but doesn't print

The head cables on the VS heads are pretty difficult to get in flush. If they weren't in all the way or got some ink on them, if they aren't even printing a single dot, you may have popped the fuse.
  5. Replacing Printheads on VP-540i

Pros and cons to both sides of this coin. You dont want to snap a manifold, or half insert one of the head ribbon cables and blow a fuse on the main board. Process itself is tedious, but not difficult.
  6. VP 540 I Heater ?

2 fuses on the power board, hard to tell if they affect the heaters at all. Usually its the thermistor or thermistat that fail, not the heater pad itself. also make sure the rip software isn't overriding anything.

  8. SP540V stops mid-print

  9. Roland LEF-20 UV LED printer ink odor overwhelming making us nauseous light headed

The 3 LEF machines i've come across all have bofas, and while that bofa was running at around 30%, i couldn't smell anything when the lef cover was closed. The system is way better on the LEF-20, with the hose that connects the bofa to the bottom of the LEF with what looks like a clothes dryer...
  10. Printing on XR-640 then Cutting on XC-540

I've only done it from a printer to a plotter in versaworks. You drag the job from the print cue after printing and drop it into the cutters cue. Never tried it between 2 printers.
  11. GX-300 - Spring for sheet cut blade fell off.

behind the sheet cut blade. goes from a hook on the sliding part to a pin on the bracket.
  12. Roland SC 540 ink test showing missing heads

test print results look like a cap seal issue. Likely that they aren't centered above the heads while the machine is cleaning.
  13. Roland Sp 300 Ink Issue

The ink can only merge in the cap, or in the head in very rare cases (i caused it once by forcing cleaning solution through the head with a syringe, and pressing really hard). Normally just caused by the cap, or the cap line being clogged. make sure the heads are more or less centered on the...
  14. SP540V stops mid-print

IP adress issue? Going direct does need a crossover cable, and also assigning a static IP address on the PC as well. If it used to work with the current settings and no longer does, you could try the "initialize application" option. Be aware this empties the cue.
  15. Roland XC-540 Magenta Head Issues

Magenta What issues specifically? have any parts(cap damper, head itself) been replaced? the only inks that really have any negative effect on the heads are black white and metallic.
  16. SP300i - Black/Cyan Printhead Issue (w/Pic)

If the machine/head is under warranty, and cleaning does not fix the deflecting nozzles, get your tech to replace the head. It's rare for a head to go irreparably bad early, but it happens.
  17. Sp-540 scan motor error 0050 0040 Help pleazz

0010 scan motor error, deviation error. possible that the connection of the drive cable to the tool carriage is loose, or the motor is dead/dying. usually 0040 is reserved when the heads smash into something, but could be the motor seizing...
  18. i need SC-540 to automatic cleaning while i'm away

So long as the main power switch on the back is still on, it will periodically wake after periods of inactivity to clean. I can't remember what that period of time is, but the number 20 hours pops in my head for some reason. I cant immediately recall any way to actively disable this short of...
  19. SP300v cutting via VersaWorks question

COuld be the blade offset. Normally it is set to 0.25mm, which works for a roland 45 degree blade. might have to trial and error to see what works best with your blade. offset is in the same menu as cut force and speed.
