This forum is full of stratojet "good reviews" by one particular owner.
I personally would avoid Chinese machines,
Id find local dealers and see what you can get. maintenance support is key.
Get real demos, get real samples and compare.
Get samples printed in all print modes.... Some printers...
"more money to be made"
after purchasing the printer? Purchasing the stock?
the time to learning how to use it, colour managing. etc etc.
When do you expect to see returns?
It really depends on their business model.
If we're talking about signs365 and you've been denied an account like i did. They give you the option to call them to clarify who you are etc.
The ability to swap while printing is handy - we can't do that as it's a draw system.
I saw a while back, a system that had 3, 4 or 5 (i forget) rolls on a reel behind the printer. that would auto change. all you'd do is select your stock and it would use it.
I forgot what it's called, or what...
I think a few of you forget what "wholesale" or "Trade printers" mean.
It means, they'll sell to anyone who resells print,
it doesn't have to be a sign shop...
That's what im saying, It's easier, cheaper and faster.
Seriously a waste of time of some of the hoops and loops some people jump though to do double sided.
unless your printer can do double sided, where you'd get the printed roll and reload it the other way, find the barcode or indicator etc...
Assuming this is the colorado?
Because that's so useful. But you also need to be prepared in advance as you cannot swap stock while printing.
Say you have a job for posters, and another one on vinyl. You have to have both loaded up before printing the posters.
When the posters are finished...
Sooo.....
I took it upon myself to test out Signs365 registration.
I used a fake real name
A temp email that looks kinda legit.
I made up a business name that matched the temp email
found a random address in the USA
...
...
And this is what i got
To any one who doesn't care, my registration...
On their site, it says "Thank you for your interest in Signs365. Signs365 is a trade only wholesale printer. Please enter your trade information. We will review your application and be in touch with you soon."
The definition to "trade only" means they dont sell to the end user.
20k sqm on ours and it's great in the first year.
Canon in aus are great to work with.
If you have a service contract, most of those is free to replace etc. except anything marked as a consumable.
This is exactly what im saying.
The print quality is outstanding with small dots, but damn....
Customers will be paying though their teeth!!
And dot placement on the swissQ is probably the best and the dots are not small. larger than ours but looks way better.
Avoid looking deep into the specs.
Printing with the lowest PL means printing at the absolute slowest speed. It's usually a gimmick as it's very slow.
Dot placement is more critical than the picolitres.
Which means, a printer with larger picolitre and better head/table calibration will print...
