  1. Fluted Sign Post

Yep, Lumber yard or maybe a fencing company. Skip the big box stores and save yourself the grief. Call a mom and pop close to you. Could be Fypon or aluminum.
  2. How do you handle customers who approach you about services?

Just to be clear, I am not knocking home based GG. Thank you, just wanted to point that out.:peace!:
  3. How do you handle customers who approach you about services?

You being home based is fine as far as I am concerned. But now you get the downside. They figure you aren't a "real" business so your time has no value. Heck, even when you get a brick and mortar shop most people continue to think your time is worthless. I will meet customers, even after...
  4. Opinions Please

Bottom right IF he specializes in metal roofing. If he does all types bottom left. Metal roofs is the first thing I thought of looking at it.
  5. Hey Betsy from 3M!

Don't panic until they use the word "align", like "we want to align ourselves with the car companies". Align is corporate speak for eliminate whatever link in the chain exists between them and a bigger market share. Question is are the car companies going to lose money? Nope. Will 3M lose...

  8. small carbon fiber wrap/apply jobs

kstom, NOTHING against you or your workmanship. Who in their right mind would ruin a Camaro rear deck like that? OMG! If that customer had come in my shop I'd still be standing at the counter blinking at him in disbelief, lol.
  9. he says "sign companies, they are all thieves" ...and what do we say?

Wait a second, I had to come back to this post. SO a 40K investment nets a million AND the guy taking that 40K and producing something that realizes that return is a thief?!?!?! Ummm, huh? If I could invest 40K and get a million back I'd sell a kidney tomorrow.
  10. he says "sign companies, they are all thieves" ...and what do we say?

I can't believe he figured me out so quick..........damn.
  11. Hey Betsy from 3M!

We have witnessed this line of thinking in another industry first hand. Certainly different levels of success are achieved depending on the market but as a whole it is problem plaqued. Let's look at the "facts" as it were. 3M makes X a year within this industry. Now X only comprises lets say...
  12. Looking for an extrusion

Don't know for sure but maybe CR Lawrence.
  13. plotter blades

5 for 11? Sounds like I NEED to go shopping around. I am paying considerably more than that. I never really questioned the blade costs. Also by my nature I never buy the cheapest blades I can find. Maybe thats wrong but in other equipment cheap blades usually mean poor performance.
  14. plotter blades

I would agree with purchasing new but if you are determined maybe a local sharpening service. Locally there is a company here that makes rounds at all the lumber yards, millwork shops etc.. They are able to sharpen very fine items and usually very inexpensively. It might be worth a try to...
  15. New to wrap

As much as iSign comes across rigid if you go to the very first post, read exactly what was requested then read iSigns response slowly you will realize he made every attempt to assist. He did offer what type of material to use (exactly what was asked), he didn't name a brand specifically but...
  16. G'Day from SYDNEY

  17. Issues with transfering files to versaworks

We had a bug at one point. When we called in the first thing they had us do was Programs>Verssaworks>Initialize Application I am not well versed but maybe this Initialize post will prompt someone more knowledgable to respond. Hope it helps.
  18. ink spots while printing

Funny how things accumulate under there. We were cutting heat transfer material once with very small text. All of our "8's" went missing. We searched and searched, never found them. About a week later we went to change the blade and they all managed to stuff themselves in the blade carrier...
  19. New Site Design. Need Feed Back!!

We are working having a site built right now. My main concern is what the customer sees when the very top of the first page opens. I am really pushing to have minimal scrolling to see main categories immediately. Can the squash the top header just a little so the main button pics are...
