is there a way to turn of the option were the machine will read the size of the media that is loaded. before printing?

when i load the media i load it right next to the guide line holes on the right side. i put the edge of the media about 5 mm away from the holes. is there a certain way to load the media that i am doing wrong.

what is the smallest size media i can use in my 64" mutoh falcon ll outdoor printer? i tried to load a 15" and a 24" roll of vinyl, but the printer wouldent print on either size. but when i load a 36" roll of banner media it will print on this size and also it will print fine on a 54" banner...

i just purchased this mutoh from ebay, and it prints well, but when loading media, the mutoh rollers will wind the media in then out and then the print heads will move over the media to see detect how big the media is. the as the media goes back then forward a bbbbuuuuddddddddd.... loud sound...
