If you applied vinyl to polycarbonate (Lexan), you are asking for trouble. Especially if you used a liquid to apply it.
Polycarbonate is hygroscopic, i.e. it absorbs moisture. If you apply vinyl over poly that has been exposed to air for while, it will absorb moisture. When...
We are would appreciate any comments from users of Ritrama vinyls. The have both cast and calendared wrapping vinyls. Both good and bad comments welcome. Their pricing seems good - if the products perform well. Apparently, they are made in USA.
Many thanks.
We are looking for the best font manager that will work with both XP and Win7. Anyone have a good experience with Printer's Apprentice or a better font manager? Not happy with Bitstream Font Manager. We thought Adobe ATM 4.1 was good, but it is no longer available.
Thanks.
There have been several new products introduced in the last several years that have thin sheets of painted aluminum bonded together with polyethylene. Grimco calls it MaxMetal and Tubelite calls it their Elite Aluminum Composite. Has anyone had any long-term experience with this stuff - good...
We are looking for comments from users of solvent Inktec ink about their experience.
Any problems with fade on unlaminated images? Any issues with printhead life or ink train issues? Any other problems?
We appreciate all comments - both good and bad.
Thanks
Has anyone had problems with Bordeaux in the last 2 years?
Has anyone experienced image fade with unlaminated images over several years?
Noticed shortened printhead or ink train life?
Appreciate all responses - both positive and negative.
Thanks
We are considering a shift to Inktec ink for our JV3 and JV33. Any problems with Inktec? Have you seen any fade over time? Any clogging?
Really appreciate your input!
Thanks,
Ron
Ink Concern

The Real Issue...
Print quality and printer function aren't the issue here.
The issue is UV durability and this is a major issue. For Mimaki, Roland and Mutoh, "some regions" includes most of the US (1 year) and a lot of the South (3 months). This is the shortest warranty that we have seen...
Testing
Most manufacturers of products for sign making test their products using a Weatherometer or something equivalent. This device provides accelerated testing using intense UV and salt and fresh water spray. In 750 hours or so, several years of exposure can be simulated. Of course, real...
Why?
The warranty for Arizona is 3 months. The question is... WHY?
Most of the printers out there are Roland, Mimaki or Mutoh - why did they cut the warranty from 3 years to less than 1 year?
Does this show confidence in their products? We don't know of anyone with such restrictive...
While searching for durability info for third-party inks, we checked out the Durability Warranty for Triangle inks. You can find it here: http://www.triangleinx.com/downloads/Durability_Triangle.pdf
In particular, check out the restrictions for Zone 2 (US) and the Warranty Table. Some...
