  2. Engraving Aluminum?

  3. Engraving Aluminum?

no...silly! sublimate the plate. I just copied your layout, added the wingdings on the divider and scalloped the corners. It can be made any way you want. You can get it done in any local trophy/awards shop
  4. External HD ticking and computers won't recongize it

In the cycling world this is called "Back Pedaling"... Your snarky sarcasm (no doubt learned from ISAG) does not contribute to the strength of your argument and only serves you make you seem petty. Sorry you got offended when I said that some bullshit you said was actually bullshit. You...
  5. Engraving Aluminum?

    I'd just sublimate it. $9.95+shipping.
  6. External HD ticking and computers won't recongize it

Your assessment of the level of my knowledge is purely an extrapolation you have made on your own based on the quality of information in my posts. I make no claims of superior knowledge... My only claim was that I have taken apart hundreds of hard drives and never seen a single...
  7. External HD ticking and computers won't recongize it

A long time ago I was doing pc support for a Major Semiconductor Manufacturer™.... a troublesome secretary (with alot of tenure and an important boss) opened a ticket which found it's way into my inbox. She wanted me to move the computer from her desk (she also had her monitor on top if the...
  8. External HD ticking and computers won't recongize it

Ahh, Finally we get to the facts!
  9. External HD ticking and computers won't recongize it

Maybe you should read some of those links, not just search for them. There are no gyroscopes in hard drives that calibrate anything. Your google search is not about gyroscopes inside hard drives...they are about using hard drives (and their fast spinning platters) as gyroscopes for...
  10. External HD ticking and computers won't recongize it

The clicking sound is not the heads crashing... it is the sound of the magnets reversing the direction of the arm because the heads cannot locate the platters. Over and over again. This can be because of a bad voltage problem, or a bad circuit board. It sounds like the OP's problem was low...
  11. External HD ticking and computers won't recongize it

Tell me more about this... I have taken apart hundreds of hard drives and never seen a gyroscope in one.
  12. Just how thick?

They used to make them from fabric! The skin is not structural.... other than, of course, to keep the air pressure in. That is what cracks them, the take-off & landing cycles that pressurize and de-pressurize the fuselage. Aluminum is pretty vulnerable to metal fatigue.
  13. Municipal Morons...

****Update**** Job got the brakes put onto it Friday, as a new sponsor came in at the last second.. So I am looking over the job... and they auto-traced one of the logos. I guess they could not identify the font. Times New Roman!! stretched taller, of course! LOL!
  14. External HD ticking and computers won't recongize it

most external enclosures are just plastic hard drive coffins. No air flow, and the drives overheat... the power supplys are also usually bad and can fail themselves or provid ebad current to the drive controller board. Rosewill makes a good one, with a large built in cooling fan...
  15. Same print, different text for 1,500

corel is great at this... we do it all the time for trophy plates. Use CSV file for variable data with print merge function. Then in Print Preview (after merging to new doc) you use the imposition function to load up how ever many units you want on one sheet.
  16. Coreldraw X5 question - re: combining objects

    back minus front...
  17. Look what I got. (cool gift)

    I like this idea...
  18. big squeegee + slitter question

The last time I did glass etch on a store front dry it was ugly... I had to recut it, then used rapid tac. Everything else I would do dry, but there is something about that glass etch... very soft & thin.
  19. Customer Humor

I had this argument with a customer before!! After sending them the proof of their A-Frame sign (with 1 arrow going right, and one going left)... They said the proof was wrong... It wasn't. I explained buy they still didn't get it. Finally, I had to tell them to go get two pieces of...
