Agreed, entry level can mean many things. Avoid UV printers with Epson heads if you can as they are not designed for UV ink (that is, they do not have an in-built heater). Ricoh heads are great, Kyocera heads are better. Since I'm not sure what you have in mind, check out our Sova UV printers...

If you or someone in your shop is somewhat tech savvy, a white box computer or building your own are often the better option. That way you don't have to rely on HP's or Dell's or whoever else's configurations and you can go heavy or light in the areas that matter to you.

I truly am happy for you. We've met many, many Canon owners who curse Canon up and down for their crappy support. I'm speaking of the US; perhaps the Australian/Oceanian area is better.

Lol at the idea that anyone would trust Canon. They have proven themselves innumerable times to utterly fail to serve their customers, having issues exactly and worse than the OP described with DCS. Another in-character move for Canon is to sell their Touchstone software as necessary to do...

Parallax Printing.

It isn't possible, but you can replace the printer's index in the SDS menu, so it becomes to recognize itself as an Oce or just use the chips. In this case, you have to destroy the original RFID ring on an ink bag and stick the right chip to the RFID board instead.
