  1. Vinyl failing on sheet metal

Two of our local customers do powder coating, they do smooth, fine to heavy textured, wrinkle & krinkle finishes, hammered finish... the possibilities are endless.
  2. Vinyl failing on sheet metal

She said it was smooth? That's textured, either powder coated, or has an architectural coating on it. You'll need a low energy high tack vinyl to stick to that, depending on what it's actually coated with.
  3. Help pricing 2 reflective decals

Just sent a couple small ones out the door similar to that for $97...
  4. Exterior Textured Wall Wrap Stucco

Technically it's a 7 year vinyl, but because it's intended purpose is on heavy textures, the expected lifespan goes down drastically. You can expect less less life expectancy from any vinyl on rough surfaces like stucco, brick, block, regardless of what it's rated for. That in a nutshell is what...
  5. Exterior Textured Wall Wrap Stucco

A good cast will work in most scenarios, if you want something specifically made for this, 3M IJ8624 is the stuff designed for use on heavy textures, stone, stucco, brick, block....
  6. Dust under laminate tips?

We don't have a flatbed laminator, but use sticky rollers like this for dust removal from just about everything, cleaning substrates before they get vinyl, even just cleaning table tops. They're reusable, we use the 12" wide, and just use scrap pieces of vinyl to clean the roller, peel backing...

  8. Roland vp540 repair

Ahhhh.... Didn't look it up to see if it was a 4 or 6 head. That would make it cheaper to fix, but if it's one with mainboard problems, and no IPC, it's hardly worth it then. My first Roland was an SC Pro-II, those were rock solid printers.
  9. Roland vp540 repair

Read closer, 4-5 grand... Not for just lines, but full ink system from cartridge to waste tank. A full set of DX4 heads, new pumps, lines, dampers, cap tops, wipers and misc. 6 heads alone would be over 3k, the rest a grand or so.
  10. Portable Hand wash station

Must have been an evil disgruntled graphics guy who developed the plastic formula for some of these coolers. Even with low energy vinyl, flame treating them first, no matter what you do, there always seems to be random ones that just.. won't.. stick! F$#@*'n coolers
  11. Roland vp540 repair

He said it's been idle for two years. If it wasn't flushed and prepped it could need new lines from the cartridges to the waste tank (readily available), new heads & pump (also readily available), caps, dampers, & other misc parts are all still available. Running a full new ink delivery system...
  12. Portable Hand wash station

You'll probably need a low energy vinyl to get it to stick on the plastic ones, most vinyl brands have them. If you're wrapping and going with 3M the IJ180MC-10LSE is their high tack low energy. I stock this just for use on formed plastic. IJ39 works good if you're just putting decals on them...
  13. Never made a name plate for office wall mounts before. Any Ideas?

Another option is acrylic with standoffs, looks a little more high end, but more costly. Used to do the acrylic for the top dogs in professional offices, and Gino's way for the average office environment where the names will probably get changed more often. Kind of depends on the use and what's...
  14. sublimated stage skirting

Check out Georgia Expo, they claim to do em' The thing with printed stage skirts is they aren't pleated like standard skirting, they're just flat fabric with velcro sewn into the hems. If you can't find anyplace and have a sewing machine, just print em' on fabric banner material and sew velcro...
  15. 3MIJ 180 problems

The MC designates Micro Channels for air release. It's good for not showing any air channel lines when it's laid. Always gotta let them outgas and cure good before laminating, especially solid prints with the MC series.
  16. How to tell the difference in Vinyl's.

I think my sense of smell is as bad from all the chemicals I've been exposed to as my hearing is from playing drums for 60 years :p
  17. How to tell the difference in Vinyl's.

Most media has a label inside the core. If you're still not sure what it is from that, just go to somewhere like Fellers who sells most common vinyls and enter the product number in the search bar. From there you can get all the specs, sell sheets, etc... Like this.
  18. Thickest banner / canvas material

There was a satin fabric I used to print on a roland years ago for store displays where it had to be folded for shipping, but it was discontinued... Call this place and inquire about fold-ability of this, kind of looks like it has the specs of what I used to use...
