  1. Should we transition to a dedicated RIP (Onyx vs. Caldera)?

I had 5 Rolands at one point and changed them out for a Colorado and Epson Resin. The Colorado alone is about is faster than the 5 Rolands were and it is much easier to run 1 printer vs 5. (Rolands could do a 60" x 150ft roll in 6+hrs each), on the Colorado I can do a roll in a little over an...
  2. Did anyone build their own label finishing system?

I looked around a bit for BOPP but there wouldn't be any advantage at the quantities I'm doing. I'm sure at massive quantities BOPP would be cheaper than vinyl (but also less durable)
  3. Did anyone build their own label finishing system?

I bought their laminator with additional slitters. works great as a laminator and slitter
  4. Did anyone build their own label finishing system?

Whatever cheapest vinyl I can find, I use one that's about 15 cents/sq ft. 3 mil permanent adhesive vinyl
  5. Should we transition to a dedicated RIP (Onyx vs. Caldera)?

Can run just about any cutter/printer combo. VersaWorks is very good but can only run Roland equipment. Get whatever flatbed printer you are looking at and use the recommended/bundled rip for the flatbed and then decide if you want to switch all the printers to that RIP. No need to make the...
  6. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

Lol yes Linus is pretty much like blippy for nerds. Turned down $100M offer to purchase his channel/company
  7. Grimco Buys GSG

  8. Grimco Buys GSG

Hp 2024 revenue $53.6 billion Grimco revenue from what I could find $241.8 Million but might not be accurate since private company I remember seeing on GSGs website saying $500+ million revenue HP could probably buy both cash
  9. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

I wonder how loud it is with all those running, impressive microphones in the video to cancel out all that noise
  10. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

It's a collaboration color with ltt, I'm sure they'll sell alot but considering how many phone cases you'll get out of one roll it is probably no where near enough to make a custom vinyl color vs printing. I don't think the thick ink would cause any kiss cutting problems, negligible compared...
  11. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

I would guess that their average product run is pretty small, Thousands of designs x hundreds of devices = a ton of inventory. I wouldn't be surprised if some stuff is printed/cut to order
  12. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

I bet they're hating that LTT orange color requiring the more complicated manufacturing process. Print on Epson, laminate, print on Colorado vs just doing 1 pass on the Colorado like I guess they do on most color schemes that can be printed withe CMYK only
  13. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

Epsons 80600 , colorados, laminators and summas in action Pretty Cool
  14. Opinion Anyone use VRLA Tech computers?

only 32gigs ram? Only one HD and it is only 1TB? I have 128 gigs and it frequently uses 100+ gigs ram with photoshop/illustrator running. 64 would be minimum I would by for graphics work in 2024 You can do better than that build and cheaper IMO That build is overkill on MB, GPU and PSU, save...
  15. Low cost per sq ft pricing

banner 1usd per sq ft is doable. Bulk blank banner can be had under 10 cents per sq ft and with the correct printer ink in under 10 cents per sq ft
  16. UV or Latex for Perforated Window Vinyl

did you use dual liner perforated?
  17. Looking for a new Computer Monitor

I've been using this for over a year, love it. Any other monitor I look at looks tiny. Took some getting used to the large size, previous monitor was 32". LG 40WP95C-W 40” UltraWide Curved WUHD (5120 x 2160) 5K2K Nano IPS Display, DCI-P3 98% (Typ.) with HDR10...
  18. Just In How We Make Over 3 million Decals and Stickers a Year at FireSprint

Yea 99% of stickers I print on the colorado I don't laminate. 6 mil matte vinyl with gloss print looks so good. Everyone loves the stickers But there are customers that want laminated because they heard it's better even though in practice on a handout type sticker it makes no difference.
  19. Just In How We Make Over 3 million Decals and Stickers a Year at FireSprint

Colorado = cheap ink and fast. Would be the main benefit over the other technologies
  20. Just In How We Make Over 3 million Decals and Stickers a Year at FireSprint

Any reason you don't just do the kiss cut and thru cut on the flatbed? Even if it takes a bit longer I like to just cut them on one machine
