Could also mean a bad cable or badly plugged in cable.
When we were trouble shooting my machine we had bad readings on some test points, unplugged and plugged the ribbon cable into the slider board and head and then got different readings.
The reason the machines miss the marks is:
If you have say inward facing L marks and the media is skewed so that the sensor goes past the outside of the mark.
If you have say outward facing L marks and the media is skewed so that the sensor goes past the inside of the mark.
In both instances it...
He didn't mention 3M Primer. The primer I use isn't 3M and it's always worked well where needed.
I've removed a few of my wraps and can tell where the primer has been applied it really holds the vinyl (adhesive) down solid.
Good point though. I know a lot of installers don't use primer.
In the...
There's a gradient blend through the background colour, so it's going to be printed not colour change vinyl.
I spoke with my supplier he said the Avery 1105 is up to it as long as I use primer and good technique.
I also had the customer come here again showing him all the problem areas.
Not to...
Yes, I think being slideable is the key here, so it doesn't grab the middle panel. We need to be able to put as much stretch as possible into the middle areas, away from the recesses.
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking I may have to get something more specific for such a stretch.
Something more stretchy!
Probably solid color, rather than print & lam.
I have 2 of these vans to do soon and am wondering the best vinyl for those deep recesses.
I can either print the whole wrap - I normally use Avery 1105 with 1060z lam.
Or I can use solid color vinyl for that area like the Supreme or Oracal 970.
Any suggestions?
Gut feeling is that it's not the head. Nor the result of it shutting down mid print.
You would think it was more likely a result of transporting the printer.
That's why I was thinking connectors.
I have a CJV30 - so the older model.
We have access to the service manual and in there it shows...
The damper swap pretty much confirmed its not ink/plumbing related.
Therefore it's something electrical.
Solventinkjet can help better than I, but I suspect the next thing to check would be all connections.
You say you removed the ribbon connector. If it was just from the head, you'll need to...
You need to verify if it's ink/plumbing related before tackling electrical issues.
You could try swapping the damper with the adjacent one - so unplug damper from the offending magenta channel and plug it into the cyan one next to it.
And Vice versa - plug the cyan damper into the magenta...
I've had that happen. Sometimes a whole channel drops out completely and wont come back with cleanings.
Last time I found that one of the tubes from the cap to the pump was blocked at the joint.
So, it still looked like it was doing a proper clean - with ink pooling in the cap and on the wiper -...
Yes, I emptied the remaining ink from the cart and put a new (more recent dated) 500ml bottle on.
The overspraying stopped once the new ink came through.
Still yet to hear any confirmation from the Jetbest dealer.
I would hope they would let me know if they heard of this happening elsewhere...
Update: I spoke with the tech from the company I buy the ink from (Jetbest, here in Australia).
I have some newer ink here, so he suggested I open the cart valve and syringe some new ink into the cyan damper/lines, then print with that. I did that and sure enough the overspray went away.
That...
Did a damper/channel swap. Swapped the cyan channels for the black.
(Plugged the cyan dampers into the black nipples on the head, and vice versa)
Confirmed the problem is with the cyan ink, not the head or electrical.
Printed swatches of 100% cyan (with input profiles on, to enable the...
Can you make just a CMYK profile?
It will mean you have to chose either/or depending whether the image has photo's and/or vibrant red vectors.
Does Flexi profiler know you are using orange and red?
When you print your targets, is it using the orange and red?
When you print the (new) cmyk...
Well it's not the dampers.
Swapped out the 2 Cyan ones and still get exactly the same misting/halo blue overspray around anything with cyan in it.
Well actually, not everything. Here's where it gets weird.
I can print a swatch 100% cyan and if I turn off the input profile in the rip, it prints...
Did you get a solution? What happened?
I have a CJV30 and I'm getting the exact same overspray pattern as shown in Murray's fist pic. On the capping station side of the Y axis, mostly along the right hand edge of the vinyl. Also some mini overspray like a halo all around the other 3 sides of...
