  1. Anyone use a Font Manager Software? Suggestions

Never even knew that was there, could be an option. The only thing I notice is the preview isn't as quick since you have to select a font before it will show it. I like how in fusion I can search for "Script" and it'll instantly list a preview of all the different script fonts. Do you know if...
  2. Anyone use a Font Manager Software? Suggestions

We use Suitcase Fusion and have for years, works great but we only use it on Macs. The previews are good if you have a good knowledge of your fonts and just use it for a quick reference, but not scrolling through until you find something you like. It's not great for categorization/browsing if...
  3. Question HP Wall Art app??

I've looked at it a few times but never really found any value in it. Everything it does can be done in design programs and your RIP. Unless they've added something since I've checked it out.
  4. Suggestions Better inexpensive overlaminate

We use Grimco's Briteline for the majority of jobs, never had any issues with the stuff.
  5. New Product Polar Poly Drytac Product

    Yea it's calendered.
  6. New Product Polar Poly Drytac Product

Was looking at it as well, doesn't look like it has any effect when it gets hotter according to their specs. Application temp just has to be above -6c (21f). Service temp goes up to 80c. I'm guessing the adhesive will have a high initial tack in warmer temps. We seem to have been using more...
  7. Suggestions What vinyl to use for printed door graphics

We would use the 180 kit. Mainly cuz we mostly use 3M stuff. However a decal holding for 5 years that you have no control over the install of, I would be wary.
  8. Avery SW900 for cut letters

From Avery: SW900 Series is designed as a wrap film. Cutting for the purpose of preparing sizes or shapes has proven to be feasible. However, signcutting of letters and graphics is not recommended.
  9. Printed colors don't match sample

We've had prints with the same file and media shift colour the same day because of conditions. Colour matching is a pain, and if you're rerunning say 1 panel of a mural, it's often less hassle just to rerun the whole thing. Sometimes it's fine though, not a perfect science. I've had to play...
  10. L25500 Horizontal Banding

Are you getting the same results on different medias? We have a 360 but I recall having issues with banding on reflective with certain colours. I ended up just upping the passes which fixed the issue or made it not nearly as noticeable, but that may change your colour. Grays and browns were the...
  11. Cell phone stickers. Removable

We would use Drytac SpotOn. Been working well for us for many temporary/reusable applications. I've never been a huge fan of window cling products, maybe I just haven't found a good one yet.
  12. Large format double sided paper?

We've used Endura C2S 18pt in the past. It's pretty thick and front is more glossy than the back but it runs well on our 360.
  13. ACM What is it?

Standard is 3mm, but you can get thicker if you need. I had to cut some curves in 6mm with a jigsaw and you just have to clean up the edges with sandpaper after.
  14. ACM What is it?

Aluminum composite, very common and good material for signs. It can be cut with a jigsaw but you'll get a better cut with a skill saw. Panel saw is the best way to cut it.
  15. Need Help HP 560 Pinch Roller Replacement-Help!

Do you happen to know why they do that? Is there some issue with the old system or just a case of HP being HP?
  16. Need Help HP 560 Pinch Roller Replacement-Help!

The little black ones where the media comes out to the print area? You just push the silver bar on the side away from the roller you're taking out, the roller away from the bar and they pop right out. That's if they're the same on 5xx as 3xx which I'm pretty sure they are.
  17. cricut over a graphtec!!!

Yea those little Cricut machines are specifically marketed to that kind of craft/hobby crowd. They make specialty materials that, from what I can tell, will only work (I'm guessing "fit" is the better word) in their machines. Different world I guess, not for the type of volume a graphtec would...
  18. Silicone edge graphics frames

    Vector frames from Orbus?
  19. How to to set up business cards for 3rd party print

Safety margin will differ based on their capabilities, 1/8" is standard. At 1/16" they're confident in their production equipment or they run on a press.
  20. Site Help Posting priviledges

That How To section is just for information about the Signs101 site. It's a read only forum. Most questions get posted in the General Signmaking Topics unless they're specific.
