Call a roland tech and save the headache. The money you are losing by not having a machine up and running already could have been countered by the money you are going to make printing tomorrow.
Rapid tac II is the best thing that ever happened to wet vinyl installs. I installed over 100yards of vinyl on the outside of a building last week in 50 degree pouring weather and was pulling hightac masking tape off after a minute or two with no problems at all!
like everyone else said. We print to vinyl, apply to mag. Not only is the mag material heavy, but rarely will you find a magnet with a face stock that prints as well as actual vinyl.
ahhhh Looks like I'm requesting some matte vinyl samples and going to throw those through the beast. We'll see what happens. I printed some matte BANNER material yesterday for the first time and it looked nice and bold compared to our gloss sign vinyl....that's what originally got me thinking.
If you have cleaned your encoder strip, done an environmental match, slowed down the cut speed and still have issues with alignment (after aligning again).....You may want to check into the carriage cable tension.
Our cuts were ONLY off in the center and on the left and we put about 1/4-1/2...
I leave our printer with main power on....sub power off....It WILL go to sleep automatically if you have that setting enabled, but ours still powers on periodically to do a quick cleaning and then turns itself back off.... as long as the MAIN power is left on, you're ok.

Do you guys have any good suggestions??

So the million dollar question...Are you or your sign shop using GLOSS or MATTE vinyl to print on?
No...
I had this problem once and fixed it first try....You need to go into your RIP computer's power settings and make sure the hard drive NEVER turns off....our computer went to sleep and stopped sending info to the printer. Ruined one print, figured it out and never dealt with it again :)
WOW sorry I didn't see your other threads or I would have helped you. I usually get away with 120-125 grams as well, but cut at 13 cm/sec and have perfect results....this is with a blade from cleancutblade.com
(This is also on sp-300v)
Alcohol only. Is it 3/8" off all the way across the printer or just on the far end of the parking station?
What's your cut speed?? I changed mine down to about 13 (ya, slow) but my cuts are spot-on even after a 10foot section of little stickers. I don't mind waiting the extra cut time if I...
