CWF is the brand name but I think it stands for clear wood finish. I wouldn't put it over sealer it needs to soak in, I think it would end up a oily mess. the CWF is a good finish but it is not glossy. We do everything from freehand router cut signs to carved and guilded signs. We really try to...
We do the while you wait cedar signs also we just leave them natural. The cedar weathers fine on it's own. If the customers ask we usually recommend CWF it's more of an oil finish. It may dry quick enough for you check it out.We use it on some of the other styles of signs we do. The problem with...
We have a glastar glasspasser cabinet. I'm sure it's more expensive than one of those but it's more versatile with the slot that opens up. We have blasted large signs with ours.
Wind chill doesn't affect objects it's just how living things feel it. If it's 10 with a -10 wind chill it's still 10 to the window and rt. Not that it makes a big difference it's still freaking cold. Was it a new bottle? Or could have someone refilled it with something else?
We are starting to change over to water based paint and recently tried the Benjamin Moore aura. Shot it with one of the cheap harbor freight gravity feed hvlp guns and it came out awesome. It sprays and levels nothing like their other latex paints. I did thin it a little but I don't know that I...
Depends what your doing some of the harbor freight guns aren't bad. Devilbiss, Binks are good ones. A pancake compressor isn't going to flow enough air, check the guns for cfm at the psi you need for the gun. You will be surprised how big of a compressor you will need.
You don't need to back up a wall mounted sign that size and thickness. If you want to use studs drill oversize holes in the hdu and use epoxy to hold the studs in.
Pretty much like the wiki says not much sticks to polyethylene. For painting, gluing and applying vinyl you can heat treat the material with a torch, just a few quick passes is supposed to help adhesion. Not sure if that would help with what you are doing or not.
The first one you make shouldn't be for a customer practice on your own stuff first. Just because they are more expensive doesn't mean that they are higher margin. They take alot more time, knowledge and equipment to do them right.
