  1. Need Help Window perf

It's way easier to install on a window if it's cut to size before approaching the window. Make it so that it will get to within 1/8"-1/4" of the edge, being careful of the rubber gasket material. As far as edge seal, we have never needed it. My personal vehicle has had a perf wrap on the back...

  3. Need Help Window perf

Although I might consider wet application on a hot window in the sun, I have never found a need for installing perf vinyl wet.

  5. Need Help Drying on take up roll for Vehicle Wraps

We don't print full rolls. We have enough room to dry about 60 ft of 54" vinyl overnight. During the day we can handle about 32' drying while we work.
  6. Need Help Drying on take up roll for Vehicle Wraps

Solvents really can't get out of tightly rolled vinyl. T evaporate, the solvents need access to air. We unroll prints completely and lay them flat to dry.
  7. Discussion Have ya gotten the feeling......................

And the sad part of it is, because they think they know how to use the computers and attached machines, they think they know how to do everything and don't want to be told about how a sign should be made, what should or shouldn't be done design-wise, what the real purpose of the sign or wrap is...
  8. Define... "The Craft"

I think an easy way to describe it is to ask what makes craft beer "craft"? Why is farm-to-table a movement? Why is one of the runaway most successful food television shows DDD rather than a show about how chain restaurants pack them in and build their stock price?
  9. Discussion Have ya gotten the feeling......................

Agree. That's what I do. But when you see people on here telling everyone that all they need to do is churn and charge less (except of course for exorbitant design and rights fees) and even the whole outsource everything people (why do you suppose there are large format factories employing...
  10. Discussion Have ya gotten the feeling......................

I started in this business when vinyl lettering was just starting to take over from hand painted. And I appreciate the technology and the things it makes possible. However, the influx of young people who view it as just another business to milk for profit and have no connection to the end...
  11. UltraChrome GS3 Inks

It's 3 years from date of manufacture. It says so right on the box and the cartridge label.
  12. Just In Not really hand made..................

Did anyone stop by and say, "You misspelled a word?"
  13. Font Help Please

It's on the piece of paper your DMV gives you when you license the boat. There has to be a space between TX and the numbers, and between the numbers and the last two letters. https://www.boat-ed.com/txb/tx_specific_images/graphics/tx_validation_decal.jpg...
  14. Digital Camo pattern needed

There's a reason you haven't been able to find the pattern. The manufacturer doesn't allow it.
  15. UltraChrome GS3 Inks

That is correct, and if you price check multiple dealers you'll find Epson inks are the same price everywhere.
  16. Suggestions Print test

The color bars you are referring to are not for the purpose of seeing print head deflection/dropout. They are used in the offset printing world to show the spot and/or process colors used on the print. A solid bar of Cyan, magenta, yellow, or black will show defects if the printer has bad...
  17. Question Painting Raw Aluminum + Reflective

They have to use an aluminum primer (self etching) first. Then any regular automotive paint will be fine, and you follow normal outgassing time (30 days is usually quoted). On the other hand, we used to roll on bulletin enamel and dry a day or two and then apply vinyl lettering, and it seemed to...
  18. Font Help Please

That font is available at marine supply stores in a large sheet of letters and numbers. Comes in different colors too. But when you install them be sure to put the required space between the sets of letters and numbers. TX 5215 AY, not TX5215AY.

  20. Question Nozzle Check Issue from a Newbie

I've never used that model. Typically a head soak is done while running a cleaning. You stop the printer while the heads are off the capping station, fill the capping station with cleaning fluid, let it park the heads and shit it off for some period of time--an hour, few hours, overnight, etc...
