  1. Question Onyx paper profiles

You add media sizes in the Media Manager. Or, after you've loaded the media, have Onyx query the printer for the media size. Have you had any training on how to do what you are trying to do? These are all basic things that should have been handled in the training you got when your vendor came...
  2. Question Onyx paper profiles

Try reading the Onyx online help about how to set up the media widths. It's really not complicated.
  3. Epson S50675 error 1A39... New Print Heads needed? New Main Board? Help!

If the printer had been shut down for 6 months, I wouldn't have had the tech try to revive the heads; I'd have just planned to replace all the ink handling parts. Heads, dampers, capping stations. That said, I've read that people have gotten their printers to clear the 1A39 error by shutting it...
  4. Question Onyx paper profiles

Use the Onyx Printer and Profile Download Manager to browse available profiles and download and install appropriate profiles for the media types you use. When you use a media with a narrower width than what you were using before, you have to tell Onyx the width of the new media, and then make...
  5. Discussion Any money in feather flags???

Most of the absurdly cheap ones are being made and shipped from China. Unfortunately these are also sold online direct to consumer, so when you try to wholesale from an American producer, you will find your wholesale cost is higher than the online retail price. So if your customer has already...
  6. Is this possible???

The simple answer is no. Even on a white vehicle. Black you can come closer because of the nature of black, especially when not in direct sunlight. But because of the nature of paint (pigment, depth, gloss, metallic or not) and printed vinyl (CMYK dots, gloss, lack of depth), you will never get...
  7. Epson s80600 and tshirt material

We have the S70670 and use print/cut for jersey lettering and for small quantity t-shirt and hoodie lettering. The inks stand up fine to washing. I have a hoodie that after 2 years is starting to show some ink wear. However under friction like a neck brace the ink will rub off fairly quickly. We...
  8. Window perf color calibration

You can't really profile perforated material. Just use your normal calendared vinyl profile.
  9. Liquid Salt

If that were the differentiator we wouldn't be able to tell--every vehicle is exposed to salt.

  11. Embossed Aluminum Signs

A prison? You may laugh, but our prison system has shops which do business using slave labor, competing against regular merchants. Seriously, Google "stamped metal signs" and start calling.
  12. Pass...

I guess living and working on a large lake we have a different view of what is and isn't possible on a boat. Big boats do not bounce around like small boats. And if the waves in the dock are high, it's likely the winds are so strong that the vinyl will be ripped out of your hands by the wind. To...
  13. Pass...

We letter boats like that on the water all the time. That's actually a pretty good sized platform. We've even done a houseboat that we put a 2x6 across the outdrives with clamps and did it standing on it in the water because it had no platform.
  14. It's Crooked

This is a spelling one. Don't know if a sign shop was involved or what, but it's pretty amazing it could happen. https://www.foxnews.com/travel/town-built-walt-disney-misspells-walt-fountain
  15. A few fonts I can't figure out...

Phone number is Compacta Bold The causal font is Best Marker I think they missed out though. They could have used 2 more fonts.
  16. CorelDRAW - Version Upgrades Going Bye Bye, Subscription-Only Soon

You'll still be able to use it as long as you want, but there will no longer be the option to buy another upgrade version in, say 2-3 years. They are basically going to the subscription model, which will be $199 a year. However, since you already own it, for a short time longer you can upgrade...
  17. How's about this one?

It says Roma Pizza on the building
  18. How's about this one?

Yeah, tell me about it. We had a local shipping/rent-a-mailbox store (not part of a national chain) decide to buy a printer and he based all his pricing on wholesale online pricing--as in that's what he sold for retail. That was 4 years ago, and then he got busy enough he had to hire someone to...
  19. Rant What do you think? Van vinyl

There's not much to say except that the original paint came off with the vinyl, which comes from either a bad paint job or vinyl application too soon after painting. Neither you nor the person who scratched up the paint has anything to do with that. However, it might explain why they had to use...
  20. Favorite Printer?

I've had a Mimaki JV3, but currently use an Epson S70670. The Epson is far superior in print quality, though the true solvent inks did seem to last a bit longer than the Eco-sol everyone uses now. I am glad to be rid of the smell of solvent inks though.
