  1. S70675 print Heads

Apparently Epson will only warranty their print heads if a licensed service provider purchases it. So, the moment it leaves their warehouse it is already "out of warranty" even if everything I do is correct, it is still not warranted. After the last debacle with the only local service company...
  2. Gerber Marker font to TTF

I like the font called "Speedy Marker Regular" which is similar.
  3. check this out

I hate those, we get them all the time. It always seems to be in the middle of a long run too.
  4. Need Help In a pickle on laminators...

Seriously, I want you to check out the GFP line, and see what their price is also. I have no idea why the other models mentioned above are 2-4X as much as they are for comparable or inferior products...
  5. Need Help In a pickle on laminators...

I surely recommend you get a GFP laminator; GREAT laminator at a GREAT price. Heat assist with take up roll. We do roll-to-roll all lamination day long and everyone in the production department can run it. The swing-away loading features are real nice also.
  6. 3M ControlTac economy Matte?

3M 1080 Matte Black is what you are going to want to use for this project.
  7. Quick! Sign Auction! Look

I wouldn't worry about it sitting a couple days without running, a good soak and a couple strong cleanings would get it going again as long as you get it securely parked on the caps. GREAT prices on the two printers and the laminator also.
  8. Illustrator Plug-ins & Scratch Disks - Questions

Also, if you are working on multiple layers and don't need to see a layer at the current time, turning it to "not seen" will speed up Illustrator and even help cut down time saving the document until you are finished working and need to to turn those layers back on for the "final save".
  9. Cyan Nozzles not clearing Mimaki

post up a photo of the print.
  10. Opinion What would you say...?

I have to agree with customquint above; go ahead and tell them your hourly/sf/project rate for install. If they balk, then oh well. If they pay you to install the wraps, then even better. There is always going to be competition, just learn to work around it and evolve or you will not last.
  11. Illustrator Plug-ins & Scratch Disks - Questions

Faster processor, more RAM and SSDs are going to get you working faster. I set my primary scratch disk to my 2nd hard drive for all my Adobe apps and don't use it for much else besides putting some personal (disposable) files on to be sure there is plenty of space.

  13. Mimaki Jv150-130

Check out the new Epson series printers, fastest speed available & same day lamination with eco-solvent inks. We have switched from the JV3 series Mimakis to the Epsons and love them.
  14. Lamination Of Top Coat - Separation From Base Layer

Hot laminate is an entirely different animal for an entirely different process/project. Regular cold laminate is what you need, but use quality materials. You can run with heat assist on your laminate around 110 degrees and experience better results, but cheap laminates/vinyls are always going...
  15. 3M IJ-35C vs. 3M IJ180C

IJ35c is for 2-3 year projects. 180c is for 5-7 year projects. What laminates are they pairing with these vinyls???? 8509 would be good with the IJ35c and 8519 would be good with the 180c.
  16. Question Vehicle Dimensions?

Pro vehicle Outlines Subscription. Pays for itself on quoting materials. Dimensions are very accurate.
  17. JV3-160SP media comp issues

Media comp can be adjusted in the machine or RIP. Check your RIP settings first and make your adjustments in the RIP whenever possible.
  18. Suppliers Who Do Slitting

Sounds cheap enough. it has to be worth your while to turn your machines on. The training/space/electrical/HVAC doesn't pay for itself, neither does a $5000 slitter. I can't see how you could produce a reliable machine at that price point, the blades alone are $$$.
  19. Gerber Edge 2 White Foil Printing Problem

Tell it is is another color (like green for example) and see if it does the same thing.
  20. Best Vehicle Wrap Design Software

I completely agree, this is my process also. Recently I have tried to make all of my layers as placed smart objects and work at 50% scale at low res to speed up the design process. When the art is approved I will change my resolution and scale up to 100% (actual) size and save my flattened TIF.
