  1. Summa DC4 and Apple iMac

Is anyone using a combination of Summa DC4 and Apple iMac with Windows via Parallels? I currently run a PC, which works fine, but I do all my design work with Mac. I'm thinking about going from my old Macbook Pro laptop to a new iMac so I'm not so spread out and I didn't know if anyone had...
  2. Starcraft Boat | Re-Vinyling

How would you guys go about removing the old vinyl from the boat? It feels like some sort of sealer is over the bolted areas with vinyl towards the rear. Any idea on how to get past that?
  3. Mounting Tiled Prints without Stretching

Gotcha, so, tape the whole thing like I would a large cut vinyl decal and apply it using a vertical hinge? Sounds good :)
  4. Arlon 4560GTX and Summa DC4sx

Anyone know if these two will work together? When we previously printed on a solvent machine, we used Arlon 4560GTX all the time and really liked it.
  5. Mounting Tiled Prints without Stretching

I have 2 tiled prints that I will be mounting onto an 8'x3' aluminum substrate. Yesterday when we did this, the prints stretched a little and didn't exactly line up. We thermal printed with our Summa using 3M's premium cut vinyl, so it's thin. We typically use the Big Squeegee for this sort of...
  6. Starcraft Boat | Re-Vinyling

Wow, this was very helpful! Would using vinyl with an air egress such as 3M's IJ180C be good for an application like this? The water should affect it, right?
  7. Starcraft Boat | Re-Vinyling

I have a customer that wants me to redo the green vinyl band on their boat. I've attached a picture. How would I go about re-creating something like this? How would I calculate for curve and all that accurately? Thanks for your help! Andy
  8. Faded registration marks

I'm using Flexi 10 PhotoPrint. Do you know what the setting is in there?
  9. Faded registration marks

Hello! I'm having some problems with my Mutoh Outdoor Falcon 46" This morning I can't get my registration marks to show up very well. My nozzle check is great, and it's printing everything else just fine, but my registration marks show up faded as in the attached picture. I've tried...
  10. Cleaning makes things worse?

If I can draw ink through the heads, wouldn't that be a sign that the seals are good?
  11. Cleaning makes things worse?

When you say, "Faulty cap top", do you mean the rubber seals on top of the capping station? Would that involve me purchasing a brand new capping station?
  12. Cleaning makes things worse?

Why would cleaning make missing nozzles worse? This last week, if say I have a couple nozzles missing, I'll do a clean(power or standard), and it will make it way worse! I'll go from a couple to half of the nozzles missing on some colors. It's very frustrating. Basically, to get full nozzles...

  14. What are these marks?

I want to so bad. I need some better accounts before I can do that though :(
  15. What are these marks?

I've recently replaced the heads on this printer, so I know the head cables are tight... And it did this even before then. :( I can haz a new HP L25500?
  16. What are these marks?

I'm not sure. They are always this size and in random places. It almost looks like 4 rows of nozzles.
  17. What are these marks?

When I do a large print, often times my printer will include these marks here and there throughout the print. Ticks me off. Almost makes my current print worthless unless I can figure out a way to hide it. But if I do another print, it will happen again. Any advice on how to fix this problem...
  18. Mutoh Falcon - What is this?

Thanks for all your help guys! I'll see if this works :)
  19. Clear Rocker Panel Wrap on a Pickup Truck - Best way to install?

Gotcha. Thanks! I went ahead and masked it. You can actually see the lines from where the vinyl starts and stops, so hopefully that will work for him :) I'll recommend a dry install then.
  20. Clear Rocker Panel Wrap on a Pickup Truck - Best way to install?

Hello! So, I have a customer that wants to do a clear rocker panel "wrap" on his pickup truck. We thermal printed some logos on high performance clear. He wants to install it himself, he's in another state. I can't make up my mind if I should mask this clear wrap to help him install though...
