My usual blade is a 45 degree but will try a 60. I also make a box around small text but did not think to just apply it then weed. Great suggestions.

I have a Summa D60U Plotter. Is there any way to get it to do a better job of cutting small letters? It seems to not cut completely and leave just enough to be difficult when weeding small stuff. Larger graphics can handle it and break away pretty well. I have changed the blade but it still does...

Not Worth It I bought one for $1000. It runs good but material and ink are so expensive that it is cheaper to sub it out. :frustrated:

I am looking at that same printer. Its a toss up between Muthoh 1304 & Roland RS series 54" What made you go with that particular one over the others? and Good luck, have fun

Have the same plotter and mine went out the same way last week. Called Summa and they overrnighted a power supply. Cost about $400 with shipping. Real easy to install.

Who are the dealers for this printer?

I agree, we have mainly Roland and Mutoh Dealers locally hear in the eastern US. They both claim to be the best. I do lean toward Roland.

I will be looking forward to what you say about it. By the way, what made you decide on this machine over a Mutoh.. They seem to have similar priced machines?

This machine is at the low end in price for a 54" Roland Printer. Does it print close to the more expensive ones and is the maintenance more?

I have a Summa D60/U cutter. The fan keeps running. How can I get it to go into a sleep mode? Also, does anyone have any idea how old this cutter is? Thanks, Joe

Could it be a 600 dpi printer or Pigment ink. I know it could be the substrate but I have tried it on photo paper and vinyl and get the same result

I'm sorry, I guess it could be described as ratty, or mottled. Picture a 50% screen and if it prints properly it looks smooth and you can,t tell if it is a solid spot color, well I don't get it to look like that. My screens look hairy, you definetly know its a screen. I am at home right now so...
