I'm about to pull the trigger on an Epson S60600 - I have never owned a solvent printer before. What is the (daily?) maintenance procedure and how involved is it? Thanks in advance.
It's the same old spiel... Documentation is abysmal & they all try to protect their turf.
& yes, I'm trying to find someone who has done this before. A few people have managed to run "unsupported" ink and I think the difference between clear and primer within the same family can't be that bad...
I have tried to use clear as a primer in varying densities and cure levels... works OK for some applications – I'm specifically looking to apply foil and clear does not work for that.
HELP - What's the procedure of changing clear to primer on a Mimaki UJF 3042 MKII?
I've had my machine for nearly three years and it's been pretty flawless. Turns out, I almost never use the clear varnish and the print quality of the clear isn't so hot either. Now I'm thinking of switching the...
I have a small Mimaki flatbed UV machine and I have only ONE regret - not getting the larger version up. The difference in price is totally negligible in hindsight, as this machine is insanely versatile and pays for itself every single month. I seriously wish I could print larger.

Eggshell labels (or Avery security labels) would do the trick, I think. They stick well and tear, or break as needed. Not sure if they'd run on an eco solvent printer...
I recently got a hold of a Graphtec FC4500-50 flatbed. So far, so good & I'm getting a hang of the machine and menus. It's clearly showing its age, but it all makes sense somehow and the machine does the job.
I ran into an issue & I have a question that someone here might be able to answer...
I like your suggestion. That's truly the best explanation to a customer so far.
She did place an order for shirts and was thrilled with the result & I also charged a design fee. It's actually a pretty involved design, and she had indicated that she's coming back for more - that's why it's all...
Just the opposite - she was extremely happy with the finished product, hence me being so perplexed by this whole thing.
Heck, I might be the one overthinking it.
Not sure if it's a problem per se. I was wondering how other people in the industry would handle such a thing. We can talk about hairy balls another time.
