  1. How much to charge for vinyl install on glass doors?

I don't think it's so easy to put some people in the "pro" category. I make a habit of taking photos of failing sign issues around this town. I have seen a lot over the years, all done by "professional" sign companies. I have photos of marketing signs we replaced and I had Miss Utility mark...
  2. getting some new equipment , VSI or hp latex ??

We were in the same boat. Picked up an HP in December. So far we've been practicing for months now (not constantly mind you), trying to get reasonably comfortable with being able to offer all the services that are attached to a wide format printer before we start pushing the services. So far...
  3. How much to charge for vinyl install on glass doors?

You should check out the Merchant Members on this forum. They are VERY professional and can help you select the right materials that lay flat the first time, and look amazing. They are pros, so the quality will be excellent. If you plan on sticking with the business, you really NEED people like...
  4. how to prep bare aluminum

Good call Keith! It fooled a number of us. Now that you said that, I can totally see it. Thanks for clearing that up!
  5. how to prep bare aluminum

You can see the ribs in the coro, can't you? This looks like coro to me, but I guess it could be aluminum with that pattern to it, but that would be a new one on me.
  6. how to prep bare aluminum

What's more disturbing to me is that someone actually thought city directional signs should be made out of Coroplast. All those failures expose the ribs of the coro.
  7. china printers

There wasn't anything wrong with the company that he bought from, that was the issue. Their machines were well rated, customers were happy, communication was great and everything was above board. Some how, and I don't recall how, someone spoofed the email from the company that went out with the...
  8. Website VS Facebook VS Linkedin

Yeah, that's not how linked in works at all. You have to link to people and when you link to people, it allows them to see who you are linked to. So it's essentially like handing your rolodex over to anyone that wants it. I'm not freakishly protective about my customers, but I did have several...
  9. china printers

I don't recall where I saw the thread, but I don't think it was here. I think it was someone that bought a CNC machine from China. Someone intercepted the email going to the guy for his wire transfer, or something along those lines. They spoofed the email and changed the info to their account...
  10. Converting raster image to vector for contour cutting

I can't help you with that software, but The Vector Doctor on here does such a great job for such a reasonable cost, I'd highly recommend getting him to look at it. I think you'll be stunned at how reasonable he is. It makes tasks like this hardly worth even fooling with, in my opinion.
  11. Website VS Facebook VS Linkedin

When linked in came out I used it a lot to help build my network of people or get to the decision makers I wanted to get it through people that knew those key people that were in my network. I thought it was great, linking to my customers and now getting access to see who they knew. Then one day...
  12. Storefront window perf material recommendation

We've had two requests for window perf just today and being new to printing, it's not something we've bought a roll of yet. We're ready to order a roll and I thought I'd ask a few quick questions in advance. First, the 3M versions all show a 1 Yr. lifespan. Is that realistic? The 2 customer...
  13. Looking for wholesale printer North jersey area

Try Rick, here : http://www.signs101.com/forums/member.php?5585-Typestries If it needs printing, I'm sure he can take care of you.
  14. Safety sign symbols

Or this one.... http://segd.org Scroll to the bottom and look at the download section. Click one and then you can download a file with a number of symbols in each one. Might not be what you are looking for, but posting it in hopes someone can use it.
  15. Safety sign symbols

The Noun Project has a lot of stuff on it. http://thenounproject.com I see they now have a paid side of the site. It used to be all free. Not sure what's free and what's not now, but the site is still very good.
  16. Letters on metal siding...no access behind

The level was a dumb idea with that letter combination. You know the C is taller than the A and the B is taller than the A as well. I guess he didn't know that until he held the level up and nothing lined up.
  17. Knifeless tape and combinations...

I'm watching the Justin Pate videos these days and I just watched him talk about chrome and the things to consider for it. In that he mentioned that one of the knife less tapes works better for chrome than the others ones. I think there was Design Line and Finish Line and I don't recall which...
  18. New to Sublimation

I second that. The Ricoh's and their gel inks are awesome. We used to dye sub more than we do now and our printer sits for weeks at a time before being used. You can't do that with the Epson. If you are new to sublimation and used to color matching with your wide formats, go buy some Goodies...
  19. Arizona law and signmakers

Who's rights were lost when someone didn't want to bake them a cake? Was that the only cake maker in town? Did their wedding get ruined because there was no cake? There's a MASSIVE difference in what happened to Black people not being served and someone not being able to get their way and make...
