  1. Perforated Static Cling?

I'd get clear static cling. You can embed "perforation" in the file you're printing on it.
  2. Seiko Colorpainter 64s

Anyone could help me figure how much a 5 years old Seiko 64s is worth? We're looking to clear a little space here and maybe let the Seiko go. It's pretty clean and still prints good. I changed one head, a few caps, dampers and the wiper switch in the last year. I'm just curious about how much we...
  3. New HP Designjet L25500 Series Printers

Quoting myself on that one. Just got out of a meeting with the hp rep, HP is gonna change your heads every 40 liters, but the guarantee only covers 20 liters. So if your heads are screwed after, say, 21 liters, you'll have to take the bill. The rep couldn't give us any reasonable explanation for...
  4. Uneven Print length on JV33

I have this problem too on my JV5. I guess you found the source of your problem, but let me add, I've seen significant (.25" ~ .5") length difference when comparing tiles, and the reason was I let some of them too long in front of the heater. Since the clutch is pulling constantly it can stretch...
  5. Thoughts on this???

I don't like the red outlines. They serve no purpose and are tiring for the eye. Also, don't distort your fonts. Try and find another font that will fit better in the space. Distorting fonts is a dire mistake, in my opinion.
  6. Interesting Observation - Window Perf

I know of 40% perforated and 60% perforated. Personally I don't like this stuff at all. It's often troubles to print and look faded out on the vehicle, and it can be dizzying to look at from the inside. So yeah, if you can avoid it that will probably be better, but some customers just want it...
  7. Official: Whiskey Thread

I love me some Glenfiddich or Talisker. Yum, damn fine tasty scotch whiskey, don't put no rocks on that! I just love the subtle taste of single malts, there's no particular reason why I chose those two brands, they just taste good and I know them well.
  8. New HP Designjet L25500 Series Printers

I think heads need replacement every ~40 liters, and this replacement is covered in the ink price. Or so my boss has bartered with our HP rep. From what I've seen last year at Toronto, there wasn't any kind of haze. They were printing on 15oz banner if my memory serves me well. I was very...
  9. New HP Designjet L25500 Series Printers

HP customer service is such a wreck. I had the same thing happen to me. I'm pretty sure they organize their lists of things to do with post-its.
  10. New Latex Ink printer - HP Designjet L65500

    >stretches twice as far as solvent Jebus... is that really a selling point? We've never had problems with solvent inks stretchability.
  11. Seiko Colorpainter not powered on for a month

DAMN, sorry I mixed OP's join date with the date of the post. Not enough coffee this morning. OP, if you need guidance for the maintenance procedure just ask away, I worked with this machine for 3 years.
  12. New HP Designjet L25500 Series Printers

Artray, I'm very interested in a review, if you do buy it. One thing that's bad about the 42" and 60" is that they're screwing you over the ink prices, or so I've heard. It's basically the same machine but they changed format of the ink "cartridges" (it's not really cartridges but more ink...
  13. New Latex Ink printer - HP Designjet L65500

    >No 10'6" roll or dual 54" roll capability This have been a major concern for us, we've harassed the HP rep for a few months about this now, and I'm sure we're not alone. He's been progressively more positive about dual rolls (48", not 54") in the last few weeks. Apparently the machine is able...
  14. Seiko Colorpainter not powered on for a month

Hey ProWraps, why the bump? Anyway... here's my one year late answer. It depends if they got the lines clean before powering it down. Even if they did not, there can still be life to suck out of this machine, since those printheads are new, and they're quite tough. If you have access to the...
  15. New Latex Ink printer - HP Designjet L65500

Warranties will extend 2-3 years if laminated, much like solvent inks.
  16. New Latex Ink printer - HP Designjet L65500

Avery and 3M indeed have their warranties out, so we can assume this is on par with solvent ink resistance-wise. Oh, and you heard it here first — a 60 inches version of this machine is coming out in next December ****- November. I've been able to run some tests and this looks very good. I've...
  17. JV5 faulty NCU

I'm using HS inks. The heat is 35 Celsius on pre and in-heater, I don't use the post heater. I guess it's okay for my media (2mil avery/3m) because it normally stay flat. I didn't even clean the NCU so far and had no problems. The machine rarely clog, and as Scot said this apparatus is quite...
  18. JV5 faulty NCU

I thought this NCU was meant to counterbalance the clogged nozzles. After speaking to a tech it seems it doesn't. So the color shifting must have occurred because of waves on the media. Anyhow thanks for you help. My tech told me I can disassemble the NCU quite easily and just clean it.
  19. JV5 faulty NCU

Hi peeps. I can't reach my technician right now because he's probably drinking beer with his friends. My JV5 displays an error message which read "NCU". Yes... quite detailed. I know NCU stands for "nozzle compensation unit", and it's basically a laser and a mirror. I tried cleaning it but it...
  20. Anyone here have the Jv5? Thoughts on it?

I'm sorry, I have no experience with the JV-33, I just pulled that out of my ass.
