Hi there, I know you wrote this quite a long time ago however I am at stage with my Mimaki CJV30. I made a post yesterday and decided that I need to change my dampers. Long story short my Mimaki hasn't been used for over a year. At the time there wasn't a problem with it's printing. Nozzles all...
Also an unrelated problem, is this normal:
The pinch rollers are moved by the index head almost every single time and I have to manually move them back by hand.
Thanks I'll have a look at that. It was my fault I really should have done more research last year but there wasn't much information about the CJV 30 when compared to Roland machines so I didn't bother. I will try and prime the dampers somehow before I do a head soak and see how it goes. Thanks...
I was reading around and decided to use the "Fill Up Ink" function. After doing this once I did a test print and the Cyan Nozzle was half firing. Does this mean that I can somehow prime the printhead instead of cleaning it? Is there air in the tubes? So far cleaning has done nothing.
Thank you so much for your response. Is the ink tube the one that hangs directly about the capping station? If so then this tube looks completely clear. Also do you have a link on how to soak the printhead and should I soak it with the same solvent cleaner I dip the foam swabs into? I really...
So the title explains it :( I bought a lightly used Mimaki on December 2017. Used it for a few days and the print was great. I got really busy and ended up using my Roland instead and haven't turned on the Mimaki basically since January 2018. Today I turned it on and did a test print. There was...
Apologies that it has taken me more than a whole year to get back to you with this problem :( I haven't been using the Mimaki at all and just used the Roland but I now have time to sort it out. As before the problem with the pinch rollers still stands. I have taken a video:
Have you any idea...
Hi there,
I have recently downloaded Rasterlink and I'm not too fond of it. I have the Mimaki CJV-30-60. I was using Flexisign before that and find Flexi to be easier and faster. I am quite new to print and cut so only recently heard of the term "Rip Software" I've googled it a while ago but...
Hi Ewded. I have had zero problems with ink drying with the Mimaki. In fact I had to turn down the default heat temperature. At the moment I have set all 3 heaters to 30, 30, 30 degrees Celsius. It was above 40 on each before. I even did a test to rub on the vinyl sheet 2 minutes after it...
Hi VanderJ,
Thank you hope you all have had a good New Year. I will be uploading a video later this week as I have just gotten back. Hopefully it may be something that I simply overlooked as I don't think the machine is damaged at all but I could be wrong.
Hi VanderJ,
If I take a video of the initialisation stage and upload it to youtube will this help much? I can record it from several angles to show what happens.
Thanks again
Ahhh so I just put the pinch rollers up and you're right the blue pieces are all intact. Seems like it could be another problem causing these rollers to be moved. It is really down to the index head. If there was some way I can stop it from setting the pinch roller pressure I think that will be...
Yeah it's a bit of a shame. The build quality seems to be amazing otherwise. Do you know if these are sold anywhere or if there's a homemade way of putting something on there? Thing is once a print job is ripped the index head still needs to readjust the pinch rollers so I basically have to stay...
Hi Vander,
Yes just had a look at the back of the pinch rollers and there isn't a blue piece of rubber on any of the pinch rollers at all like you've got in the photos. Not sure how they've all come off but if I can manually move them over and that sorts it then I'll be fine with that. The lock...
Hi VanderJ, Once again thank you for replying. You've been amazing help so far :)
I've read what you've written a few times over and I'm still not overly clear. If anything it sounds like maybe the first description you've written may be correct as I don't think that the print feed lock...
Hello, I recently purchased the Mimaki CJV-30-60 primarily for T Shirt Vinyls and small stickers. I bought this exactly one month after buying the Roland SP540v which was my first ever printer/cutter. It was the first time I ever had any experience with a printer cutter combo.
Now being very...
Thank you so much VanderJ for the information. I still have so much to learn and I fully understand the explanation you just gave in detail as I love to learn about the little intricacies. Being faster and producing a higher quality is just what I'm after. I've only owned the SP540v for a month...
So I decided today to go for something completely different and hope that I've made the right decision. Instead of another Roland I'm going for a Mimaki CJV3-60 in excellent condition. The seller states the machine has had new printheads, dampers pump and ink lines changed. He told me that he...
Thanks again :) I think the double CMYK set up will be quite amazing for me because a higher picture quality isn't my top priority. I mainly sell online and the majority of consumers are happy with the standard CMYK. I've never had any complaints about the colours not being vivid enough etc.
I...
