We do a LOT of custom mailboxes for a local community. The plain black boxes have to be repainted in their colors. The clincher is it HAS to be a specific paint and it's latex only.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks on what the best prep, primers and are for a durable finish. I typically...
I have never encountered this before. We are doing an install for another shop and we noticed the laminate is separating from the vinyl. If you try and pull them apart, you can de-laminate the whole thing with barely any effort.
Allegedly they used Avery vinyl and laminate...this is happening...
Have a job coming up and we need to mount half inch MDO signs that are about 12x18" to chain link fence.
Any specialty hardware that we can use to mount these?
Any help would be great, thanks.:)
Threw this together as a gift for a friend of a friend's garage.
Just some simple cut vinyl on a pan face aluminum backer. Designed from scratch, cut and fabricated (including the pan face) in about and hour and a half during some free time today.
The new system here is Win 7 and my now ancient Adobe Type Manager is outdated and runs buggy, even in compatibility mode.
I see there are a lot of font management programs out there, so what are you using?
My needs are simple, just need to turn fonts on or off at will, search and preview...
Using Flexi 8.1
Roland GX24 cutter
Windows 7 64bit
Connected via USB directly from the computer. No network.
I installed the drivers, connected the cutter, I can even run the connection test through the device and printers panel in windows...no problems
However I cannot get a poll size out of...
Is primer and paint enough to properly seal off the cells of HDU prior to vinyl application?
I have seen a lot of signs where the edges of graphics pucker up in short time. I would think its due to moister being able to creep in between the vinyl and the texture of the HDU.
I wanted to epoxy...
Does anyone know a vendor that may sell it by the yard or foot?
We have a golf cart that needs an outline around a number on the hood, and buying a roll just isnt cost effective.
The only thing I have is this picture taken from the clients old sign. They claim it was just some ordinary royalty free clip art that was used, but they are not sure if it was from online, a disk, or from a book.
Here is a pic for comparison.
We have an instance with a print that needs to be mounted on a thick substrate for dimensional purposes.
HDU was requested, but it seem kind of a pricy choice for something just acting as a base for a vinyl graphic.
Extira or laminated MDO would be too heavy...anything else out there that can...
Just curious as to a ballpark of what some of you charge?
For example, say an independent contractor, a one man operation...he wants business cards but also wants a logo created.
Places I used to work (but not design for) cobbled clip art together from the internet and charge $30-60 for the...
In the middle of a project and ran short.
Can anyone here help, or know of anyone that carries it in stock? We had to order the last batch from Trim USA but it's special order and takes 2 weeks plus. We would really like to be able to get things finished next weekend if possible.
Looks like this was originally vectored from an image file, it's full of distortion. Trying to dig up the original font so I can recreate it from scratch.
Does anyone know why Flexi would not automatically kern fonts?
Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?
Having to hand adjust every line of type is becoming an annoyance.
Doesn't matter what font I am using either...I keep getting massive spaces and overlaps.
AVAILABLE looks like...
