  1. What do you want?

Various different inks, solvent/latex OEM/ 3rd party, printed then "baked" side by side under intense UV lamps to simulate sunlight and see which inks are more fade resistant, and also which color inks last longer than others. Same tests done side by side, laminated and unlaminated, and on...
  2. What do you want?

I'd like to see some 61-63" vinyl rolls to be able to easily make 10'x5' signs.
  3. Need Help Drying on take up roll for Vehicle Wraps

    Fixed it for you.
  4. Question What's the deal with 60" vinyl?

I have a one track mind today, yea this is probably the main reason for 64" printers. Should have titled the thread, What's the deal with 60" vinyl?
  5. Question What's the deal with 60" vinyl?

Not so sure on all of this. I mean colored wrap film comes in 60" and our installers don't have a problem with it. I understand about seamless hoods. But why not 61"? While not as popular as an 8'x4' sign, Xx5' signs are pretty standard. Tons of 63" banner available as you mentioned, which...
  6. Question What's the deal with 60" vinyl?

Thanks didn't know this. I'm not seeing this size available in the American market though, did find some on a german webstie. Is this size readily available in the states?
  7. Question What's the deal with 60" vinyl?

Everything has moved up to 64". Why? Do any vinyl manufactures make 64" rolls of media? Tons of 60" rolls available. But they are a true 60" (at least I think) so making a 10'x5' sign is still not as simple as an 8'x4' sign. Or are we expected to perfectly laminate 60" lam to 60" vinyl...
  8. Need Help Drying on take up roll for Vehicle Wraps

They will be fine on the take up roll, just let them dry like that overnight and you are good to go. Why would there even be take up reels on almost all solvent printers if they were a bad idea? Like others have said, nothing should be sticking to the backing, if it is then either your...
  9. Cut Vinyl Pricing

In case you think $50 is too much for a one off custom made high performance cast vinyl decal... Value meals at McD's are like $12 now.
  10. Whats the ideal pricing for banner and stickers?

Vistaprint is $98 + tax and shipping for an 8'x2.5' and the customer has to design themselves or provide artwork.
  11. Whats the ideal pricing for banner and stickers?

Are you seriously selling 8'x3' banners to end users for only $54? Why even bother? So much left on the table..
  12. UltraChrome GS3 Inks

Is there a difference in formulation between GS3 inks and GS3 3M MCS inks? Epson's website doesn't say that the ink is any different, just says that it carries the warranty if you've done the program. I'm guessing it's the same ink, just pay extra for the warranty? To the original question...
  13. S2T160 G performance

So does G Mode make everything actually go faster or does it decrease time by traveling less distance? Or maybe some combo of both? If it actually travels faster, then yea I would think it would add ware? We don't run the plotter at max speed anyway..
  14. S2T160 G performance

So are there any trade offs or dwonside to activating G-Mode? We got an s2T160 2 months ago and haven't activated it yet. Like do you get less accuracy because it reads faster? I guess I just don't see why it wouldn't be set in G mode by default unless there is some sort of trade off?
  15. HELP! Signs sticking together

I clicked this link and now on everywhere I am online shows me an ad for these huge friggin rolls. LOL
  16. Printing White s80600

Yes we always did these in the past backing with white clear adhesive vinyl. Wasn't too bad on the roland but does add a ton of time and hard to utilize a take up reel or automated cutting. We are using summa barcode now and the added time to cut those marks out is too much. We got it to...
  17. HELP! Signs sticking together

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. We will try the newsprint out, seems like it'll do the trick. Now any creative ideas on how to separate all the signs once we get them back? Wondering if leaving them in a refrigerator for a few hours might help? Place a stack on top of a plate...
  18. HELP! Signs sticking together

We recently made (1000) 6"x4"x.040" aluminum signs, (eco solvent printed orafal 3551/290 gloss). Packaged them in sets of 25, and sealed in polybags, and then packaged (10) sets of 25's into cardboard boxes to make boxes of (250). Got a call today that the signs are all sticking together...
  19. Printing White s80600

In my first post I referenced changing the white ink limit to 400%. That was wrong it is the white ink density. Different profiles have this number set differently. If you increase the number of passes the ink density number decrease. Can somebody explain the relationship here? Seems to...
