Depending which fan it is you can use a house hold fan and open the case and point the fan into the pc. Not only will it clear the dust bunnies away but if the thermal sensor is no longer registering hot then the pc will work. Been there.. done that.. mrfern:notworthy:

A computer will shut itself down if the PC knows there is no fan working on the mother board or the power supply. Also if a video card fan goes out the pc can burn on the video card and still work since the fan just cools the card. The smell of the burnt video card is a tough one to find but...

I use it. Works great. Only one issue I had. I was testing it and swiped a card of mine to test. I canceled the transaction but once you swipe a card it will charge it no matter if you cancel it. It took about 4 days for the charge to go back to my account since it was never signed it was...

I will say only that most of the answers are there you just need to look for them. RTFM is a common error so I read the manuals and supporting documentation before I ever call in. MAC is awesome but very expensive. A good rule of practice I have is my computer for work only does work...
