Well at 300 to 500 square feet a month you are doing enough to support your own printer and control the quality yourself. If the project is not long term enough to justify geting a printer, I would be more than happy to run them on mine.

Not sure about the inkjets but my DC4SX prints great on static cling and like any Summa the cuts are spot on. It may be something to look into. Summa will send you samples.

I have the DC4SX and still farm a few things out to be printed on an inkjet. There is a differant market for the thermal, But it was the market I was in so it works good for me. As far as the clear goes the 3M clear from Summa prints very nicily but I don't like the adheasive they use. It...
I have X3 and the way I have been learning it is through practice. It comes with a good manual and the corel site has several good tutorials. Just get your X3 and have at it is my best advice, but it wil take a while to harness all its abilities.

The repeatability on color seems to be good. I can not tell the differance in the decals I printed yesterday and the first set I did for them in Janruary. I am keeping samples from most jobs with the workorders and notes on the rip settings for all jobs. My maintenance so far has been keeping it...
The DC3 firmware can be udated but you are still stuck with the 1 meter material width. With the DC4SX it will print on 24 and 30 inch wide material. This has made finding sources of materials much easier. I run 2 differant combinations of ribons in the machine now depending on what I an doing...
Overall it has been good for what I got it for. The more I print and learn the rip settings the better the out put looks. As for material I have printed on the R-tape vinyl EFX specialty stuff with very good results. I have gotten some vinyl from Summa in 50 yard rolls and the price is as good...
Went on Aurora Graphics web site a little while ago an they have some new stuff. Digital flames, wrap fills and print and cut chrome. Has anyone gotten any of this stuff yet and what do you think. Looks pretty nice.

I just switched to the clean cut blades in my Graphtec and I am very happy. You can't go wrong, very good blade and he gives a discount to Signs 101 members.

Anyone had a problem with X3 when you copy a all or part of a graphic parts of it not being in the same place when done. Tried grouping and does not seem to make a differance. Select the items I want to copy and hit control D and sometimes stuff gets moved, and not allways the same elliment or...
My new DC4 will be here on Wednesday and can't wait. There have been a few post on folks printing on other than the 3M materials from Summa with good results. If anyone has and would like to share you user settings and what material it was I would be gratful.
Thanks and Happy new year!

I just upgraded to X3 yesterday and have been going through and looking at some of the new commands. Imported a eps file with some text and some flames and tried the bevel on the text to see what it looked like. Went to resize it from 100% to 200% and it took 10 or 12 seconds. Seems to work fine...
I bought one at the USSC show and should get it just after the first of the year. They have setups in there rip for the vinyl they sell and it is all 3M. The differance is that they clean the surface an package it to keep it clean. The summa rep gave me the 3M part numbers while I was there and...
I am going to take a hard look at them next week at the USSC show. Any info on the DC4 in general should be some help. The biggest concern that I have is what you can print on. I called them last week and what I got out of it is they will print on what they sell and thats it. I am sure someone...
Just finished cleaning up from the 10+ inches of rain Ernesto dumped on us friday. Had 4 inches or so of water in parts of the shop and lots of leaves, branches and pine needles everywhere else. Got lucky we kept our power on but much of the area around me got it back today. Now I need a rest...
