here is what AI says:
The behavior you’re describing could indicate a failing capacitor or a component that has temperature-sensitive characteristics, such as certain types of semiconductors.
Electrolytic capacitors can exhibit issues at lower temperatures, such as increased ESR (equivalent...
This has to be world biggest mystery. Can human kind not figure out which electrical component on a main board fails when temps below room temperature of 20-22c. haha
I have 3 of them thats how much i like these printers. I'm not giving up on the VP just yet haha. 1 of them has eth issue, 1 with no power issue, between the 3 I should have 2 working as I have plenty of parts.

Hi All,
VP-540 not poweing up. checked board fuses are ok. Replaced main board and powers up so problem is with main board. Does anyone know what to check on board? I have the working board so I can compare componant values. Can someone point me in the right direction please. Thank you!
P.S...
yeah i didnt check mosfets/transistors bcaz usually even if 1 fails the whole head stops firing or half of the channel. never had just 1 colour stop firing
thank you for replaying. is there a way to diagnose the Carraige board? usally fuse and mosfets go bad on mainboard and ive been able to diagnose the faulty part and replace it. CAn i take a multimeter to it?
Hi guys,
My dual CMYK vs540i only 7 colours firing. Magenta on far right will not fire at all. it's not damper or ink issue. I've checked all that. Could it be Carraige board or the printhead? I may have had ink spill on printhead duing damper change. Is it commond for head to go bad by not...
problem is LC is starving of ink, after pulling ink with syringe and all nozzles fire with ink and i do a small print LC stops flawing into the head so it doesn't put down ink on all nozzles. its either ink flow issue or some low current/electrical problem
yes its not used, only 7 colour, no white or metallic, re-circulation pump on channel 8 with cleaning fluid. If it was the cap top or pump why only one channel is bad. Dx7 so only 1 head and 1 cap top. Two pumps connected to 1 cap top. I've swapped pump lines numerous times
