have you tried the following: run a anti-virus check run Ubuntu used CCleaner EDIT: and all computers you buy should come with an OEM CD

are you trying to install a backup?? also have you restored to FACTORY settings by using the install CD??

usually warranties for hardware have to be validated as bad or they will charge you, I know this is a fact with HP servers.
